The Headmasters cartoon

The Space Pirates stored their stolen proton energy inside a pyramid on the Pirate Planet. To hide and obfuscate those who would seek to find it, they had numerous skull artifacts: one could split into half and would reveal the location of the pyramid, and another was the key to the front door. Inside the pyramid, they issued a written warning that misuse of the proton energy would devastate the planet and destroy the discoverer. After the Space Pirates faded away, the ship, with the key to the door of the pyramid affixed to the bow, ended up in the Space Graveyard and the proton energy was discovered, leading to the transformation of the Pirate Planet into a desert.
