Velocitron

Velocitron, otherwise known as the Speed Planet, was colonized by a group of spacefaring, trailblazing Cybertronians aboard the starship Ogygia eons ago. A primarily desert planet. Huge superhighways and racetracks crisscross the surface, patrolled by colossal cleaning and road repair drones.
Racing is the order of the day for the denizens of the Speed Planet, and if you're not a racer, working for a racer, or watching a race, then you're clearly not a Velocitronian. This is no planet for the slow-moving or bulky Cybertronians; everyone, from the enormous to the elderly transforms into some variety of high-powered racing vehicle. Even the slowest of Velocitronians can outrun most offworlders.

Most of the globe covered in seas of sand interspersed with rocky cliffs, though reportedly it has a "bayou" region that's a bit more swampy in nature.
The planet-spanning super-races the Speedia 500 and the Planet Cup are some of the most important events in Velocitronian society. So obsessed are the Velocitronians with speed that the winner of the Planet Cup will become the planet's ruler. Until the recent arrival of the Autobots and Decepticons from the forgoten world Cybertron, Override held court (the first and only female Velocitronian to do so), but she was defeated in an upset by the impetuous Hot Shot.
Velocitron, like its three sister planets Gigantion, Animatron, and Earth were threatened by the Unicron Singularity. Only the discovery of the planet's Cyber Planet Key, which over time had come to be used as the trophy for the Planet Cup race, could ensure its survival.
Known Velocitronians
Excellion may or may not be a native Velocitronian. Blurr exists in a weird quantum state in which he is either Blurr or a Velocitronian.
The planet is also home to a race commentator and at least one marching band.

Astronomical Data
Velocitron is one of seven planets orbiting a hot, aging (dying in fact) yellow star an incredible distance coreward of Cybertron (to fly between the two without aid of Space Bridge would take longer than the entire sum of Cybertronian history). The Velocitron system lies about half way out from the galactic core in an area of space defined by three large clusters in a triangular arrangement with a scattering of stars between them.
The star Veloctron circles is dying. However, though its days are near an end by a planetary timescale it is not an imminent event in a non-galactic timeframe. It is, unfortunately, experiencing massive solar storms as its time runs down, which have the effect of severely disrupting communications on the planet.
Velocitron History
During the Golden Age of Cybertron a great Space Bridge network allowed ships to spread colonies among the stars. Velocitron was one such colony founded by the starship Ogygia. Its entire society has evolved around the concept of speed. There are foundries, mines, factories and more, but all are subordinated to the primacy of speed. Velocitrons are all about going fast, other than that (to quote Blurr) they also “Make stuff that makes us go faster” and, “Make laws that make it easier for us to make stuff that makes us go faster.”
Planetary Data
Veiwed from space it appears the entire brown and grey planet has been covered in some sort of mesh net. The lines of this “net” are world spanning roads (lined with bleachers) and the knots are nodal settlements built around road interchange.
Nearly the entire planet has been reengineered for better banking turns, smoother straightaways and the like. Few locations have been spared this reconstruction and the Velocitronians show little to no interest in those, limiting even their maps entirely to the road systems. One area that remains natural is the southern magnetic pole, an area of jumbled sandy hills, windblown heights, and thin slot canyons where the ancient monolith that once served as beacon for the space bridge network still stands.
The capital of the planet is the large city of Delta, near to the equatorial zone of the world. It is the location of the Speedia, the great celebration-race which decides the most prominent citizens, and on some occasions even the political leaders, of the planet.
The smooth, flat engineered nature of the world allows great windstorms to roar across the world with little to ease or break their fury. The Velocitronians accept these storms as part and parcel of the challenges they face in their races.
Other than the solar storms, dwindling mineral resources are also a growing problem for the colony. That so much resource is spent on the races and tuning/repairing racers may be contributing to this shortage.
Inhabitants
Velocitron is inhabited by several thousand Transformers. They have a distinctive visual style to their construction: exceptionally long limbs, elongated torsos, streamlined bodies with armor flourishes that are designed for aerodynamics. According to Optimus Prime a number of entirely new types of Transformers have come into being here that are unknown on Cybertron. There are, however, no fliers in the colony. They are all about ground speed.
