Talk:Primax 787.3 Alpha
From MediaWiki
Can this continuity be retconned to include 2010 happening in a different year than the US cartoon continuity Primax 984. Alpha?
- Retconned? --ItsWalky 23:13, 6 February 2012 (EST)
- Reconciled, presumably. -Derik 03:10, 7 February 2012 (EST)
- I'm not sure I understand the question. This universe would be an offshoot of the 2010 series (presumably "Primax 1186.14 Alpha"), so it would have those events occur in 2010. —Interrobang 03:53, 7 February 2012 (EST)
- But this is one of those weird examples where usage of the universal stream terminology goes awry. We often THINK of Headmasters as being where the Japanese continuity "begins", so I presume when Trent and Sipher used it (guys? speak up!) that was their intended meaning - that this was the identifier of the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity, encompassing all the piles of other stuff that's in it. But Japanese cartoon continuity really starts either with Scramble City or even the SRLF manga, those begin the earliest exclusive new stories taking place in that continuity that established it as a separate thing from the American cartoon continutiy. So what is Primax 787.3 Alpha? Some kind of separate universe again from the J-G1 cartoon continuity? Ichikawa did this at times in the Alternity fiction took - off the top of my head I remember he labelled the Kiss Players radio play with it's own identifier when again, it's part of the J-G1 timeline. It's a tricky matter, this stream stuff. - Chris McFeely 09:54, 7 February 2012 (EST)
- Maybe one timeline can encompass multiple streams. Perhaps the streams are interconnected with each other in a massive network that spans reality upon reality, and each splinter timeline (such as those that branch off from Marvel G1), marks a fork in the stream network, enabling time venture forward into multiple paths and directions. This would also enable both the Japanese dub of "The Rebirth" and The Headmasters cartoon to both exist are the FSRLTF 2010 cartoon without one necessarily overiding the other, as they would just be two branching paths for history to take. Two streams branching off from the same originating stream. --Sabrblade 11:27, 7 February 2012 (EST)
- This. There is no reasons streams can't diverge and then reconnect.--Jimsorenson 11:41, 7 February 2012 (EST)
