The Transformers: Prime toyline hit shelves in November 2011. Originally, Hasbro played coy with the series receiving a toyline at all, emphasizing that it was a television series first and foremost. There were initial plans to release a small assortment of three Deluxe figures (Bumblebee, Arcee and Starscream) in the Generations line before they were moved into the expanded "First Edition" launch line.

The Transformers: Prime toys released in 2012 will bear the "Robots in Disguise" subtitle.

First Edition (2011)

Deluxe class

Arcee, a Wave 1 Deluxe figure

Wave 1

Wave 1.5

Wave 2

Hasbro's Cliffjumper was only available in Canada and certain other regions outside of the United States, such as Asia. The First Edition Vehicon was not released in Hasbro markets at all, and First Edition Terrorcon Cliffjumper was cancelled entirely. The Vehicon's series number is taken from the TakaraTomy version, and may not reflect the original intention, being that Japan's 005 Megatron was not a release planned by Hasbro.

Robots in Disguise (2012)

Deluxe class

The Deluxe size class gains a dynamic "head reveal" gimmick that has become the universal feature of the figures, whether they be spring-loaded, gear-operated, or simply strategically revealed at the right time by folding down the right panel. Internally, these figures were referred to by Hasbro as "Revealers" due to this gimmick, but the official name remains "Deluxe Class".

Future Waves

Voyager Class

The Voyager class figures acquire a universal gimmick shared in the form of a spring-loaded MechTech-style transforming weapon partially constructed from translucent plastic, which also features an LED that moves into place and is activated when the weapon is deployed. The figures themselves also feature translucent plastic in various spots throughout their bodies, so that when the weapon is in place and deployed, the moving LED creates the idea of energon power "flowing" from the character's bodies into their weapons. Internally, these figures were referred to by Hasbro as "Powerizers" due to this gimmick, but the official name remains "Voyager Class".
