Fictional events

[edit]

Some of these years have fictional events listed in them. I didn't think that's what they were for, so I'm checking. Is that the way it works? Can fictional events go in the "real-world events by year" years? - Starfield 10:24, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

We really should either change the category name or create a separate "fictional events by year" category. --Khajidha 10:41, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
Do we want to maintain continuity non-specific fictional events by year? Just asking. "1984" would be pretty full. - Starfield 10:56, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking. Do you mean, should we mix the continuity families together or have sub-sections for each? My question is do we assume that fiction published in a particular year takes place in that year unless explicitly stated otherwise? Or do we only list fictional events for which in-universe dates are actually given? --Khajidha 11:13, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
I was asking if listing fictional events by year is something the wiki wants to get involved with at all, outside of the timelines pages. But if we did, it could go on the same page as the real-world events by year with an additional category. A lot of the fiction is a bit ambiguous as to what year it takes place in, but some of it is not. The animated movie took place in 2005, we know the years the live action movies take place in, everything between issues 41 and 93 of the UK Marvel comic takes place in 1986, etc. It could make for some big pages. - Starfield 11:56, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
