Legislator
- The Legislators are Transformers from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Legislators are massive sword-wielding 'bots who can transform into shuttlecraft, shoot fire from their mouths, and are fond of the number "1984".
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 comics
Skids awoke, amnesiac, to find himself aboard a mode-locked shuttlecraft flying over a planet. As the shuttle began to transform, Skids - trusting his instincts - reset the mode lock, pointed the shuttle at the planet's surface, and bailed out.
From the explosive crash of the shuttle, two giant robots emerged, toting swords, chanting "Nineteen eighty-four" and advancing relentlessly to attack Skids. The wayward theoretician magnetized the corpse of Polaris and attached it to one of the giants, then blew up the body's fuel supply, taking out the first giant. When the other kept coming, Skids took it out with an array of built-in weaponry and pit-fighter-worthy moves. Who's Afraid of the DJD?
Tailgate, who witnessed the battle, would be reminded of the Legislators while learning about obsolete sub-section of the Autobot Code: specifically, paragraph 19 (80) 4 dealt with thought warfare, a threat that never materialized... at least as far as Ultra Magnus knew.
Notes
- The name "Legislators" comes from the concept art for the robots, published in the first trade paperback volume for the series.
