Junkion (planet)

Junkion (also called Junk, or the Planet of Junk) is a planet-sized garbage dump. It is inhabited by a race of scrap-robot Transformers, called the Junkions. The leader of the Junkions is Wreck-Gar.
The Junkions have based their entire culture around TV broadcasts from Earth.

When an Autobot shuttle containing Ultra Magnus, Perceptor, Springer, Arcee and Daniel Witwicky was damaged in a battle with Galvatron, it was piloted to Junkion for repairs. The Decepticons tracked them down in order to kill Ultra Magnus and steal the Matrix of Leadership, a plan which they succeeded with. The other Autobots hardly had any time to mourn, however, as the native Junkions revealed themselves, deemed the Autobots intruders, and attacked them. The battle halted when Hot Rod, Kup and the Dinobots landed on the planet, and subsequently made peace with the Junkions using the universal greeting. The natives then repaired Ultra Magnus and revealed their own spaceship to aid in the battle against Unicron. The Transformers: The Movie
Many of the very same Autobots from before were later attacked by Decepticons on the planet of Goo, and were saved by Wreck-Gar who brought them to Junkion. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 Wreck-Gar was later watching TV on his planet when he was kidnapped by a Quintesson. The Killing Jar
Even later, a Quintesson journal drifted away from the explosion of Quintessa and ended up on Junkion. The Quintessons sent Sharkticons to retrieve it, but the defensive Junkions immediately attacked them. In return, the Quintessons starting putting subliminal messages in the TV signals reaching Junkion, causing the Junkions to distrust all other lifeforms. Marvel movie adaptation
After an Autobot shuttle sets down on Junkion for repairs, Galvatron and the Decepticons engage the occupants in battle. The Sweeps draw and quarter Ultra Magnus, allowing Galvatron to abscond with the Matrix. In the wake of their departure, the Junkions launch an assault on the demoralized Autobots. The battle was interrupted by the arrival of a Quintesson vessel containing additional Autobots. Hot Rod convinced the Junkions of their peaceful intentions and an alliance was forged. The natives revealed the secret of Junkion — the planet is an immense space ship. It blasted off to do battle with Unicron. The Final Battle!
Marvel UK continuity
After the destruction of Unicron, his head floated off through space and crash-landed on the planet, called Junk, where Unicron used mind control to force the Junkions to build him a new body out of the planet itself. He was destroyed before the plan was completed. The Legacy of Unicron!
The Transformers Sticker Adventures
When a damaged Autobot shuttle crashed on Junk, Perceptor, Arcee and Springer discovered that the piles of junk were a perfect source for spare parts. Unfortunately they were attacked by the Junkions, who were interested on Blurr's high-speed engine. As the fight raged on, Hot Rod and Kup arrived in search of their friends, and Kup's use of the Universal Autobot Greeting made the Junkions far friendlier. After finding Megatron drifting in deep space, Wreck-Gar took him back to Junk and fixed him up. He also helped the Decepticon salvage several damaged Aerospace Extermination Squadron drones which had been "discarded" on the planet after the Age of Internment. Runnin' with the Devil
Collect and Save
The starship Reclamation, crewed entirely by Recyclons, happened on the planet Junk while searching the universe for salvage. They were all ready to start recycling the planet when Wreck-Gar attempted to greet him, and was blasted for his troubles. The Junkions chased the interlopers off, but the Recyclons weren't ready to abandon their find. They attempted a new plan, wherein Captain Salvage would distract the Junkions with peace talks, while the others tried to recycle the planet from space. This didn't go much better, and soon the Recyclons and their ship were turned into junk. Collect and Save

Exiles
Junkion was a planetoid in interstellar space, with no sun or moon. It was a world of towering trash mountains and deep valleys stratified with garbage and refuse of all kinds; a ring of abandoned spaceships surrounded the planet, and many of these same hulks had fallen planetside. These ships were from all across the galaxy, including Quintesson, Cybertron, and Velocitron. This peculiar geography owed its origins to the fact that Junkion was not a naturally occurring world. In fact, deep beneath the planet the Requiem Blaster lay forgotten, and its formidable gravity brought many drifting pieces of space junk together. Junkion was later used in the early days of the Golden Age as a place to dump refuse and garbage from colonization efforts across the galaxy. This same planetoid found itself home to all kinds of criminals, pirates, and outlaws on the run. Over time, however, the space bridge project failed, and the lowlifes on the planet were forced to adapt and innovate. Since then, Junkion developed a stable and thriving society based on scavenging and recycling refuse. Teams of Junkion scavengers prowled the landscapes for anything useful, which was collected and recycled into something new. Exiles

Junkion was a mere myth to the people of Cybertron, who believed it to be a hellish world littered with horrible scrap-eating zombies. Wreckage There were no settlements there, though brave and/or foolish travelers would occasionally visit to test their mettle against the planet's many trials. Faces of Darkness No Transformer had dared visit the planet for millions of years until the day Scorponok chose to strand Megatron there as a unique form of punishment. And whaddya know, it turned out to be littered with hostile, cannibalistic Junkions like the legends claimed. Derelicts Megatron defeated the natives attacking him in the Scrap Wastes area, then used the junk littering the ground to repair his injuries. Wreckage While taking cover from an ionized acid rain storm in the Howling Wastes, he found a shipwrecked Quintesson named Pentius who had been stuck on Junkion for centuries and managed to map most of the planet. After hearing that there was a way off the planet near the Pillar of Rust, Megatron freed the alien and forced him to guide him there. Faces of Darkness To get there they had to cross the Acid Sea, where Megatron was attacked by Sharkticons. Rage

Note
- The idea of Junkion as a spaceship, as seen in the Marvel comics movie adaptation, came from an earlier script draft for The Movie. Some vestiges of this concept remain in the final product, such as Wreck-Gar's line that the "new, improved Junkion planet is sleek, sexy import with turbo handling."
- Wheelie's Universe toy's alternate mode is a "Junk Planet speeder".
