Whirl (FOC)
From MediaWiki
| The name or term "Whirl" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Whirl (disambiguation). |
- Whirl is an Autobot from the Aligned continuity family.

Whirl is the most visible Wrecker. On the battlefield, he bobs and weaves, matching the numerous Decepticon fliers move for move. He delights in his showmanship, but even though the audience rarely does, Whirl doesn't mind; the act isn't for the audience, after all. While they focus on the jukes and zigs and zags, the other Wreckers are closing in to drop the curtain.

- "Autobot Whirl" (named so for trademark reasons), released as part of wave 4 of the 2012-onwards Generations Deluxe Class assortment under the Fall of Cybertron banner, is a redeco and retool of Vortex from wave 2. Cast in dark, purple-ish blue, orange and charcoal gray plastic, with orange and light blue paint operations, his alternate mode is a Cybertronian assault helicopter with four rotor blades and a double-barreled gun at the front end of the cockpit. In robot mode, he sports a new head sculpt based on Generation 1 Whirl.
- Whirl comes with Vortex's swords, which feature sculpted weapon barrels on the underside and can be either held as swords or as rifles with "bayonets" in robot mode, and can also be attached to the skid-like sections on both sides of the cockpit using the same 5mm post posts also used as handles for holding the swords as rifles in robot mode. In addition, he also comes with a brand new weapon with a spinning barrel gimmick. The swords can be attached on both sides of the new weapon.
- In addition to his robot and vehicle modes, Whirl can also combine with his fellow Wreckers into Ruination and serve as any of the gestalt robot's four limbs, though his official configuration shown in the instructions and the official Hasbro stock photos is the left leg. (The gestalt's hand features a thumb which can fold over to either side of the palm so that it can be used as either the left or right hand.) The swords he inherited from Vortex can be combined with the other Wreckers' weapons into a huge weapon for Ruination to wield.
