Anti-rad armor is armor designed by Cybertronians to protect the wearer from excessive radiation. The older variations look kinda frightening if you're on something.

The Autobot Kup was stranded on a deserted planet which was teeming with radiation, which slowly ate away at the old 'bot's mind, causing him to go crazy. Springer sent wave after wave of Autobots to the planet wearing antique anti-rad armor to protect them from the planet's radiation. Unfortunately, their suits, coupled with Kup's delusional state, caused the old 'bot to believe his rescuers were demonic entities come to kill him, and he slaughtered each wave of Autobots.
