Woooooo! Vortex is a fun-loving guy! He looooooves Energon, and he also loooooves trapping folks inside his helicopter mode and spinning them around until they either terror-barf or tell him where he can find some! He also also looooooves dropping Autobots thousands of feet through the air until they smash into scattered bricks all over the landscape.

Vortex was one of the Decepticons who joined Megatron in the Nemesis to chase the Autobots in the Ark. After they boarded the Ark, it crashed to Earth and the Transformers fell to a four million year-long sleep. They woke up to a world filled with blocks. Kreon Story
Vortex was later charged with guarding the Decepticon Base till Megatron returned to the base. Vortex took his duties very seriously, even to the point of refusing Megatron entry as he had yet to actually return to the base. To aid him in guarding the base, Vortex transformed a helicopter into Mega-Vortex. Fustrated, Megatron called Optimus Prime to come and attack the Decepticon Base. After the attack successfully scared Vortex away, Megatron return to the base, where a beat-up Vortex returned and welcomed back his master. A Reliable Warrior!? Vortex the Lookout from Hell

- Rotor Rage w/ Vortex, Commando, and ATV Driver Kreons (2012, 217 pieces)
- This set features Vortex, who can be built as a robot or a helicopter, as well as a small red all-terrain vehicle. It also includes Dark Energon parts that can be combined with all the Quest for Energon sets to form the Ultimate Dark Energon Weapon. The Vortex Kreon in this set features chest printing based on Fall of Cybertron Vortex, although his pink torso and dark helmet suggest it was based on preliminary concept rather than the bright red of the finalised game model.
- A redecoed version of Vortex, based on his Generation 1 counterpart, comes as part of the Bruticus Micro-Changer combiner set, and can be rebuilt from his robot mode into a helicopter. He can also contribute his bricks to form Bruticus. Unlike Swindle but like Onslaught and Brawl, his appearance is based on his Generation 1 toy.
