Talk:Drift (AOE)
So, he's a toy-only character who had all of his toys canceled... should he be placed in the "Things that don't exist" category, then, or does his inclusion as a cross-sell negate this? Inkblot 00:43, 19 December 2011 (EST)
Disambig
Since his only ROTF appearances were cancelled, is he now Drift (AOE)? Or are we gonna be really strict about this? --flicky1991 04:16, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- I'm more curious if there are any good promotional renders of him out there yet to replace that mainpic (and caption). --Detour (talk) 05:23, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- As far as precedents go, Reverb (Movie) and Gunbarrel (Movie) had their 2007 film toys canceled and first came to officially exist in an ROTF comic and they still have the "(Movie)" disambiguation. But they might not be the best example, since it appears their original toys were actually sold by BBTS as "Exclusive Unreleased" toys, whatever that means and however official that is. - Gimmick (talk) 12:33, 21 May 2014 (EDT)
- Either way you do it leaves confusion. Whichever way is decided upon, we should make sure that the other exists as a redirect. --Khajidha (talk) 13:46, 21 May 2014 (EDT)
Separate characters?
His ROTF and AoE selves are obviously 2 separate characters, so they should be given their own pages rather than being included together. KirbyForce1,23:38, 4th of May 2014
- No. There's nothing stating that they aren't. And besides, they're both ninja Autobot dudes. Pretty much the same. Escargon (talk) 18:40, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
Classification switch?
Regardless of if the characters are different or the same, should we rename the page to Drift (Movie) rather than (ROTF) because not only is the AoE version more prominent, but it also means that he is not exclusive to ROTF? --MrGameAndToy (talk) 16:50, 26 May 2014 (EDT)
- No. The disambig noted the franchise the character originated from. In this case, ROTF. --M Sipher (talk) 17:19, 26 May 2014 (EDT)
Not the same character
If Bonecrusher (ROTF Constructicon) and Bonecrusher (Movie) are considered to be 2 separate characters in the same continuity, why can't the RPM Drift and AoE Drift be considered 2 separate characters also? They're obviously not the same character, and it doesn't make sense as to how you can think otherwise. Same with Lockdown, Crosshairs, and Hound. Kirby-Force (talk) 00:43, 19 June 2014
