His alternate mode might well be modelled after one of the early series McLaren MP4s, maybe an MP4/1B - the legs seem to be intended to represent the massive rear wings the cars were running with in 1984.

IDW Micromasters

Barricade is yet another Gorlam Prime Micromaster reimagined as a Cybertronian. How do we want to incorporate both versions? Mimi (talk) 12:38, 26 June 2014 (EDT)

I'd be tempted to suggest putting the WFC-design Barricade at a new article. He isn't really a version of Micromaster Barricade in anything but name... Jalaguy (talk) 13:29, 26 June 2014 (EDT)
Haven't read Punishment but yeah, if the Barricade there is not based on the Micromaster toy, then we've basically just got this argument again. "All the good names are taken", as Roberts says.
Might have to be one of those weird Kre-O disambiguations like Starscream (Armada Kre-O), though, since he's shouldn't be on either the Barricade (WFC) or Barricade (G1) pages. Barricade (IDW WFC)? Or maybe just Barricade (Punishment)? --Xaaron (talk) 13:55, 26 June 2014 (EDT)
What about just Barricade (IDW), a la Goldbug and Buster? --Sockie (talk) 14:01, 26 June 2014 (EDT)
He's not the only Barricade in IDW, though -- the Micromaster Barricade appeared in Spotlight: Hardhead. --Xaaron (talk) 14:57, 26 June 2014 (EDT)
IDW seems to be increasingly utilizing Micromasters as full-sized Transformer characters in their continuity. Barricade certainly isn't the first, and I doubt he'll be the last (he's just the first who doesn't have a Japanese version to be shunted into the Gorlam Prime spot). One solution would be to just no longer consider the Gorlam Prime Micromasters as being the same as the Transformers Micromasters and just create one page for all of them, but that seems like a bit of a nuclear option. Either way, I think this is an issue that goes beyond just Barricade and needs to be dealt with globally, rather than locally for each character. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 16:24, 26 June 2014 (EDT)
