The Unicron Battles was the subline imprint for the last portion of the Transformers Armada franchise in late 2003
The last few waves of the Armada toyline had a The Unicron Battles imprint, as did the last 12 episodes of the Armada cartoon, beginning with episode 41, "Depart". Naturally, the change came about to better promote the new toy of Unicron, the first official toy of the character to ever be released. Thus, the cartoon (as well as the comics) saw a shift in storytelling direction that focused less on the fight for the Mini-Cons that had been relevant up until the point of this change, and more on the looming threat of Unicron's coming.
