Side Burn is a Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy.
A RED Spy in the base?!

Though he prides himself on his abilities as an infiltrator and spy, Side Burn may very well be in over his head this time. When the Autobots found out the Decepticon Predacon had begun a cult focused on the grafting of biological tissues to Cybertronic bodies to enhance their combat abilities, Side Burn stepped up to the plate to make his way into the organization. He wasn't prepared for the sheer amount of zeal he found within, and is worried that this is one assignment he might not return from. His position at Predacon's right hand gives him more insight than he could have hoped, and it scares him. It also makes him a target for the jealousy of Predacon's other partner, the fanatical Mini-Con Skid-Z.

Side Burn's skills are impressive, being crafty in both speech and movement. He's not much of a fighter, but one very good runner. He fears he's going to need every trick he knows and a lot of luck the day he discovers Predacon's true goals... or the day Predacon finds out Side Burn's true purpose.<ref>Side Burn profile in More than Meets the Eye: Transformers: Armada #2</ref>

Why yes, I do look just like Redline. Save your wallet some pain.
  • Predacon with Side Burn & Skid-Z (Max-Con Class, 2003)
Available only with Armada Predacon and Skid-Z, Side Burn is a redeco of the Street Speed Mini-Con Team member Backtrack, transforming into a Cadillac XLR luxury car. His car mode wheels are designed to allow for much faster rolling on smooth surfaces. As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx" socket on his vehicle-mode underside which allows him to attach to any toy with a "Powerlinx" style 5 mm post; some toys have special Powerlinx posts that activate/unlock gimmicks when a Mini-Con is attached.
Predacon was not part of the regular Takara Legends of the Microns line, but was released as a "USA Edition" exclusively through Toys"R"Us Japan's web site, in Hasbro packaging with stickers to convey legal information in Japanese.
This mold is also used by Redline, and was retooled to make Dice. The mold was slated to be released as Energon Override, but was ultimately cancelled.
