- Hound is an Autobot from the 2007 movie franchise and Age of Extinction movie in the live-action film continuity family.
Hound is a technical specialist and highly experienced, gutsy Autobot commando. He is a boisterous warrior who throws himself into every mission with no more worries than a duck landing on a pond, and quick to draw any of his many, many guns. And while his tendency to switch from gun to gun in quick succession in a single battle often leaves him bereft of weapons and ammunition, Hound's bravery and resourcefulness is never in doubt. The only thing that just might take a toll on him is the loss of a friend; Hound's boisterous streak hides a soft-Sparked 'bot, who despite arguments and bickering, loves his fellow Autobots and commander even more than he loves a good rumble. It's this love for his comrades that makes him such an effective warrior. He will take on an entire Decepticon army if he has to, and he would sooner go down swinging then abandon his allies on the battlefield.
He is good friends with the far more relaxed Trailbreaker, although the other Autobot's more relaxed attitude sometimes gets on Hound's nerves.

Hound was among the Autobots who went into hiding on Earth after Cemetery Wind began hunting down the Autobots. Hound was overjoyed when Optimus Prime returned to the surviving Autobots. Though delighted that the Autobots were a team again, Hound expressed his immense distaste of humans following their betrayal. He didn't take kindly to Drift's haikus defending humanity, and nearly came to blows with him before trying to open fire on Cade Yeager, his daughter Tessa, and her boyfriend Shane. That night, Hound was sobered when Optimus asked if there were signs of any other surviving Autobots, and thanks to Cade's tinkering with Cemetery Wind's drones, the Autobots learned of an attack on Ratchet, as well as Leadfoot's demise. Hound was saddened to learn of his friend's fate, and saluted his fallen comrade, bitterly cursing his assailants as "savages". The loss of Leadfoot helped convince Hound to join in Cade's mission to infiltrate KSI.
However, the Autobots suffered another blow when they learned of Ratchet's death and subsequent melting down for raw material. Hound gladly joined in the enraged Optimus' attack on KSI. After fighting their way through several rooms and facilities, the Autobots came upon the imprisoned Brains, who Hound took the time to free from his predicament. Hound was eager to kill Joshua Joyce for the atrocities he'd committed, but after a lecture on how the Autobots now meant nothing to humanity, Optimus quietly ordered a retreat, to Hound and Brains' disappointment. The Autobots fled KSI, only to be pursued by Galvatron and Stinger. The Autobots were subsequently separated from their leader and thus unable to save Optimus and Tessa from Lockdown.
The Autobots, Cade and Shane ventured to Chicago, and covertly stowed away on Lockdown's ship (though Hound admitted it was probably a bad idea). After warning the group about Lockdown's inevitable booby-traps, Hound had to aggressively prod Crosshairs into helping rescue Optimus and Tessa. Hound took charge of the Autobots and led them in the search for Optimus, assigning Cade to search the cell block for Optimus and Tessa. Eventually, the group found Lockdown's high-security vault, where Hound had a disgusting encounter with an alien life-form. Despite the creature's relative harmlessness, Hound couldn't find it in him to let it survive, and quickly destroyed it. It was at that moment Optimus made his presence in a cell known, and ordered Hound to commander the separate ship docked with Lockdown's the cell block was in, though he confessed to Optimus he was a "sucky" pilot. Indeed, when the team regrouped, the ship was found to have made an extremely rough landing. Hey, at least the big guy was honest.
Optimus ordered the Autobots to abandon humanity forever and flee to the stars aboard the stolen ship, a plan Hound was soundly with. After Optimus and Hound revealed the Creators' hand in Earth's past and their race's origins, Brains revealed Galvatron's nature as a reincarnated Megatron. Optimus ultimately decided to stop Galvatron an d retrieve the Seed, and subsequently leave Earth for good. Hound piloted the ship to China, and left the pilot's seat in order to help retrieve the Seed from Joyce. However, incoming fire from Galvatron's army knocked him and Bumblebee into the streets of Hong Kong.
Although he ended up briefly stuck in a building thanks to his plump shape, and did not appreciate Joyce calling him fat (the inventor earned one of Hound's cigars being flicked at him in retaliation), Hound fought tooth and nail to protect the humans and the Seed from Galvatron's forces with Bumblebee's support. When Hound found himself running out of ammo and weaponry, he convinced Cade to join the battle with him. Despite overwhelming odds and an enormous amount of enemy fire whittling him down, Hound fought on as long as he could, also utilizing his skills as a "fat ballerina" to his advantage. After taking out a group of KSI Transformers with a grenade, Hound finally ran out of ammo, but fought on using his hat, belt, and even his cigar. Hound finally collapsed, exhausted from the battle, but was reinvigorated when Optimus joined the battle with the Dinobots. Hound soon joined in attempting to escort the Seed to safety, but when Lockdown arrived and unleashed his ship's tractor beam, Hound escaped its influence and helped escort the seed across a nearby bridge to safety. Soon, Lockdown was defeated, and after regrouping, Optimus assigned Hound and the Autobots to protect the Yeager family before departing into space with the Seed. Age of Extinction

Hound was among the Autobots who accompanied Optimus Prime to Earth in response to a signal from Bumblebee alerting them to the presence of the All Spark on the planet. After being informed by Bumblebee's human companion Sam Witwicky that the lost Decepticon leader Megatron was also on Earth, Prime dispatched Hound and his close friend Trailbreaker to investigate the Arctic cavern in which Megatron's body was originally uncovered. Taking some drones with them, Hound and Trailbreaker discovered that the Decepticons Shockwave and Thundercracker had had the same idea. As Megatron's body had already been moved by Sector Seven anyway, Hound and Trailbreaker had nothing to lose by planting bombs in the cavern, hoping to entomb the two Decepticons in ice. Unfortunately, the two villains escaped at the last minute, having discovered that Megatron had brought an army of drones to Earth with him to help search for the All Spark—drones which were currently lying dormant around the Earth.
Shockwave brought Megatron's drone army back on line soon after, and they attacked the Autobots en route to Hoover Dam. Ironhide and Ratchet forced the origin of the drones from a defeated Thundercracker, and Wheeljack quickly concocted a virus that would send them back into sleep mode. Hound and Trailbreaker were charged with getting the virus transmitted into a satellite so that it could be broadcast to all the drones at once, and they broke into a communications center belonging to "The Corporation" (apparently a Sector Seven front company) to use their communications dish. Decepticon drones dogged their every step, blowing up the first dish they found and forcing them to move to the complex's airstrip to find another. Unfortunately, the drones cut off the power supply to this dish, requiring Hound to power it up manually while Trailbreaker uploaded the virus. "Uploading the virus", for some inexplicably bizarre reason, involved Trailbreaker violently attacking the dish control panel, causing both it and the dish to explode, hurling Hound's body across the complex. The virus was successfully transmitted to the drones, knocking them offline, but at the cost of Hound's life. With the last of his strength, Hound asked Trailbreaker if the plan worked, but he died in Trailbreaker's arms before his friend could answer.

- Transformers (2010) Legends Class Tracker Hound is a redeco of Universe Legends Class Autobot Hound in black, with gold striping, silver details, and metallic-blue eyes. He transforms into a somewhat outdated, old-fashioned army Jeep. For legal reasons, the vehicle mode has been slightly tweaked, such as sporting squared headlights and horizontal vents in the front grille, as compared to the characteristic round headlights/vertical grille vents design of a real-life Jeep.
- The stock photography to the right depicts him as mis-transformed, with his windshield not being flipped up.
- Although the lack of a bio makes the figure's placement difficult, it both featured different Tech Spec numbers from the original Generation 1-themed release of Legends Hound, and was listed as "movie" product in the Japanese Transformers Generations 2011 Vol. 1 guidebook.

- Part of the second wave of Age of Extinction: Generations Voyager Class toys, Hound transforms into an Oskosh Medium Defense Tactical vehicle. Hound comes with seven weapons that can combine into a larger gun. All of his weapons are capable of being stored in both his vehicle and robot mode. His beard, helmet, and forearm bandoliers are made out of rubber. In robot mode, he sports faux-kibble tires on his feet.
- The TakaraTomy version, part of the second wave of Lost Age: Movie Advanced toys, features black and brown on his vehicle and robot mode. Hound's helmet has a silver stripe running down the middle and his beard is grey rather than black.

Notes
- Hound's declaration that he is a fat ballerina who "takes scalps" is interesting, considering he himself has
a removable scalpa scalp-like helmet. - Hound is the first and thus far only on-screen Autobot with a military vehicle alternate mode.
- At the end of Age Of Extinction, Hound is noticeably thinner. This may be due to him running around Hong Kong during battle, or just the animation. Either way he looks like he lost weight!
