Such is the dismal fate of Jaken.

Yūichi Nagashima (長島 雄一 Nagashima Yūichi born December 15, 1957) is a Japanese voice actor who is nowadays credited as Chō (チョー). He is most famous for playing Chō in the 1984-1991 children's show Tanken Boku no Machi, eventually becoming synonymous with the character and using the name as his stage name.

A few of Nagashima's other roles include Jaken in InuYasha, Ginnosuke Nohara in Crayon Shin-chan, Brook from One Piece, the President of Everything in Super Milk-chan and Misuzu Sonada in Ouran High School Host Club.

In Japanese dubbing he has dubbed the voices for Gollum in The Lord of the Rings series, Scooby-Doo in the Scooby Doo live action movies, Elmer Fudd in Looney Tunes media, Plankton in The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Big Gay Al in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, I.R Baboon in Cow and Chicken, Cecil in Reboot and as Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters.

  • In the preview for "Fierce Battle at the Bottom of the Lake", Nagashima announces a fictional ditty called "Blitzwing's Song". He apparently pulled a similar gag during the ending credits of Beast Machines when he was playing the role of Savage/Noble.
