X-Dimension Mini-Con
The X-Dimensions (エックスディメンションズ Ekkusu Dimenshonzu) Microns are a series of redecos of various Mini-Con Teams released by Takara. These redecos were more limited than the original color schemes, but were still standard retail-sale items (with one exception).
Of the first eleven Mini-Con Team mold-sets, all but one team—the Street Speed Mini-Con Team—got the X-Dimensions treatment. Nine of those teams were released close to the originals; the packaging was almost wholly unchanged; only the cardboard cardfront behind the plastic bubble reflected the change by adding "X-Dimensions" to the text and giving the Team a new ID number. The final Team, the Street Action Mini-Con Team, was available only as part of the Toys "R" Us exclusive "Magna Convoy DX set" multi-pack. While originally presented with no backstory or fiction, Ask Vector Prime eventually established that the X-Dimension Mini-Cons were distinct characters and teams from the toys they were repainted from:

- MM-09 Heavy Machinery Mini-Con Team; Wheel, Crush, and Duster
- MM-10 Burning Rubber Mini-Con Team; Drift, Spin, and Indy
- MM-12 Nocturnal Assault Mini-Con Team; Flame, Glide, and Recon
- MM-14 Cosmic Exploration Team; Mir, Move, and Apollo
- MM-18 Coastal Defense Team; Sail, Knot, and Float
- MM-19 All-Terrain Excursion Team; Junk, Winch, and Spike
- MM-21 Accident Recovery Mini-Con Team; Prowl, Draft, and Twist
- Urban Protection Team; Bank, Wheelie, and Arcee

- According to the Micron Densetsu Year Book 2003 retrospective, the X-Dimensions color schemes were planned to be used in an alternate-universe comic story that would follow the conflict from the viewpoint of the Mini-Cons. However, this series was never produced, and no reason is given as to why. A comic series from the perspective of Mini-Cons, Linkage, was produced and packaged with the Micron Legend DVDs, but it takes place within the same universe as the cartoon.
