Arachnamech

"Hello!"

The spider-like drones known as Arachnamechs make up Dr. Meridian's army of minions. Offensively, they can fire homing missiles which allows them to act as mobile turrets, and energized chains capable of restraining even Megatron. A swarm of them can link together into a monstrous robotic centipede. They are intelligent enough to be able to perform complex tasks such as removing limbs, and even seem to possess the ability to display emotions.

When a blast of friendly Autobot fire during the Battle of the Bay caused Dr. Meridian's lab building to collapse, his Arachnamechs successfully pulled him from the rubble. Age of Evolution, Part 1

"We don't hate you."

After relocating to a base near Witwicky where G.H.O.S.T. had made their headquarters, Meridian sent his Arachnamechs out on hunting expeditions to attack G.H.O.S.T. convoys in search of Cybertronian tech. A group of them attacked Optimus Prime while he was fighting Swindle in a train yard, resulting in the Decepticon managing to escape capture and Optimus obtaining one for further study. That night, a group of them ambushed a G.H.O.S.T. convoy carrying Hardtop, destroying it and retrieving the captive Decepticon. One Arachnamech followed Robby and Mo into a cave and was blasted by Twitch, however the video it transmitted back to Meridian alerted him to the existence of her and Thrash. The Arachnamechs removed Hardtop's right arm Secret Legacy, Part 1 and used it to replace Meridian's own missing arm. A swarm of them attacked Mo and Thrash in Witwicky, but were easily dispatched once Optimus and Elita-1 arrived. When Optimus, Elita-1, Megatron and Dot Malto turned up at his base aiming to rescue Twitch and Thrash, Meridian set his Arachnamech army on them, backed up by a handful of captured Decepticons, but ultimately they only did enough to allow Dr. Meridian to escape. Secret Legacy, Part 2

While exploring G.H.O.S.T.'s HQ, Thrash found a barely-functioning Arachnamech in a box. Classified Finding his new arm difficult to work with, Meridian sent his Arachnamechs out to find more Cybertronian parts. The Arachnamechs had become enough of a concern to the Autobots that Wheeljack went hunting for the critters in the woods near Witwicky, and with Twitch's help, was able to successfully obtain one. Other Arachnamechs attacked Robby, but he fought them off with his father's help. Traditions

When Nova Storm and Skywarp returned to the base after failing to obtain Optimus Prime's arm, Meridian had the Arachnamechs restrain them with electrified bonds. The two Decepticons were instead used as bait, luring Megatron and Dot to a location for an ambush, during which the Arachnamechs successfully captured the former Decepticon leader. Nova Storm and Skywarp were again dispatched to try to obtain Optimus's arm, this time with Arachnamech backup. The Arachnamechs followed Twitch, Thrash, Alex and the kids into the subterranean cave where they were disabled by a pulse from the Emberstone. Age of Evolution, Part 1 Meridian had the Arachnamechs hunt for Dot when she escaped and began sabotaging his equipment. They found her, but she managed to toss one into a furnace, creating a cloud of purple smoke that alerted the hunting Autobots to the location of Meridian's base. The Arachnamechs attempted to defend Meridian's giant mech against the efforts of the Autobots and their human allies to destroy it, but were ultimately unsuccessful. Age of Evolution, Part 2

Megatron and Elita-1 were still cleaning up the naval yard and smashing Arachnamechs when Hashtag and Jawbreaker showed up to interview them over alternate modes. During this, one of the Arachnamechs reactivated before stealing the Terrans' camera. Since the camera contained sensitive Cybertronian information, the Terrans had to make sure the Arachnamech would not escape. They eventually succeeded in smashing it, though the camera was also smashed in the process. Outtakes Several Arachnamechs were skittering around as Mandroid inspected Brawl's arm. Home, Part 1 At the abandoned bot brawl arena, swarms of Arachnamechs combined into a giant-centipede creature. The Terrans struggled in battle against it; until Hashtag used the subway cars to break the creature into its component Arachnamechs. Despite the creature's defeat; it lasted long enough to allow Mandroid to complete his new control devise. Two Arachnamechs helped the weakened Mandroid escape and were present for his meeting with Agent Croft. Home, Part 2
