Blix

Blix is an anthropoid from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Captain CAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAN!

Blix, the "Leader Neanderthal" or "Neanderthal Leader", is mainly concerned with the defense and well-being of his small tribe. Though not keen on these new mechanical beings who've started turning up recently, he at least recognizes that the Maximals are on his side, since Dinobot saved his life and the lives of his tribe.

The leader and another anthropoid were attacked by a snake and unable to defend themselves. That night, the Predacons mounted an attack on the valley in which the anthropoids dwelt, in the hope of altering the course of future history. When Dinobot intervened and defeated the Predacon troops, Megatron took the anthropoid leader hostage. The leader was witness to Dinobot fighting back, using an improvised club to attack Megatron, allowing the anthropoid to escape. Later, the Neanderthal leader found the club and was elated by the revelation that it could be used to open coconuts-and made a handy defense against snakes. Code of Hero

Following the valley's devastation, the anthropoids scattered, unknowingly ruining Megatron's plan to destroy them. The Agenda (Part 1) The leader was travelling with Chak, Una, and two other anthropoids when they were attacked by a Cyber-Raptor. The leader tried to distract it while the others escaped, but quickly realised he was no match for it and fled. He later found Chak and Una, who'd gone missing, with some Maximals who were at the mercy of a group of Cyber-Raptors. The leader attacked one of the raptors, destroying its control pack and sending it crazy. With the defeat of the Predacons and their raptors, the Maximals returned the two youngsters to the leader Neanderthal. Cutting Edge

The anthropoids were able to find a new place to settle in some caves. Even then, they were not safe, as the leader Neantherthal spotted the approach of Inferno and Quickstrike. The anthropoids scrambled to defend their new home against the Predacons. Nemesis Part 1 Though the other anthropoids were driven off, their leader confronted the two invaders. As Inferno took aim, the Nemesis appeared overhead. Despite Dinobot's protests, Megatron insisted on firing the ship's fusion cannon on the "lone anthropoid". The leader ducked for cover, leaving Inferno and Quickstrike to be destroyed by the ship's cannon.

The anthropoids later made Waspinator their leader. Nemesis Part 2

The leader Neanderthal got tired of Waspinator flicking stones at his head while he tried to work. The anthropoids subsequently chased the Predacon down and used a catapult to fling him away. The Catalyst

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Blix was a caveman who lived in the Pleistocene era and he eventually died. Millenia in the future, the Human Confederacy embarked on the Eutychus Project to resurrect the vast majority of dead humans with Blix being reborn on the planet Ny Norge. After being given a modern education, Blix joined the Confederated Terran Colonial Fleet and ascended to the captaincy of the Spooky Action at a Distance. During a patrol of the Allowed Zone, he informed Una and Chak that the probability of war on Cybertron had shot up from 7.229% to 96.068% so they had best be ready to render Elba completely lifeless. Just in case. Intersectionality

Some time later, he watched a (fake) Cybertronian broadcast of the Resistance with Screwball where the two recognized the Rosetta Stone among the debris. Blix sent Una and Chak to retrieve the priceless piece of lost human heritage. Cultural Appropriation

Notes

[edit]
  • Blix was not named in his original appearances in the Beast Wars cartoon, being known as just "Leader Neanderthal" or "Neanderthal Leader" in the scripts. (As noted elsewhere, the anthropoids are specifically intended to be the ancestors of humans, unlike actual [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Neanderthal|{{#if:||Neanderthal}}]]s.) His proper name was given nearly two decades later in "Intersectionality".
  • Blix is named after a character from the 1985 film, [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Legend (1985 film)|{{#if:Legend|Legend|Legend (1985 film)}}]]. This follows the naming pattern set by Una (Oona) and Chak (Jack), and continued by Screwball.
