Buffalo Missile

"Buffalo Missile", it's truly a mouthful.

The Buffalo Missile (バッファローミサイル) is one of Bighorn's signature attacks and seemingly the one he's most proud of. It involves his robot mode's mouth bringing up a missile that produces a magnificent explosion upon impact. Bighorn usually activates Buffalo Missile while in robot mode because that's the mode he uses for battle, but he can lift his robot head from under his bison back if needed. A curiosity of the Buffalo Missile is that while it is an integrated weapon, it needs to be launched manually, which is done by pulling Bighorn's bison tail. Bighorn can do so himself with his own hands when he is in robot mode, but it is better for his aim if someone else assists him. In beast mode, he either needs assistance or he needs to cleverly make use of his environment.

Filled with a day's worth of rage, Bighorn demanded the right to fight Megastorm on behalf of the Lio Convoy Unit. While Megastorm needed time to charge his Lightwave Mega-Cannon, Bighorn urged Tasmania Kid to pull his tail. Confused but convinced, Tasmania Kid did as told and Bighorn's Buffalo Missile blew away Megastorm moments before he'd have fired. The other Maximals were impressed. Bighorn's Rage When Bigmos and Tonbot insistently attacked Apache and Bighorn while the latter two could do nothing but hide because Lio Convoy wanted peace, Bighorn grew a tad impatient. After a near-hit, he chose to fight back, hooked his tail between two rocks while in beast mode, readied his robot head, pulled, and launched the Buffalo Missile at the rock beneath the two Insectrons. In doing so, he made a statement about his ability to fight back while only injuring them through the pieces of stone flying their way. An unintended but convenient effect was that the sound of the Buffalo Missile alerted Tasmania Kid and Lio Convoy to their location. This was convenient because after that demonstration of power, the Insectrons were convinced the Maximals were a threat to be dealt with as soon as possible. The Insect Corps Arrive With Diver's assistance, Bighorn could use his Buffalo Missile to force Dirge and Thrust to unhand DJ and Gimlet. Who Is the Leader!?

Bighorn was thrilled when Lio Convoy asked assistance in battling Copy Convoy and asked for anyone standing behind him, which were Scuba, Tasmania Kid, and Diver, to pull his tail so he could use Buffalo Missile in beast mode. However, Copy Convoy knew better than to let things play out and shot Bighorn in the tail, which send him running to the water to cool his injury. Cued in by this that Copy Convoy knew everything Lio Convoy knew, the Maximals retreated for the time being. Later, Copy Convoy made his own unit by copying the other Maximals. On his orders, they attacked and Copy Bighorn went in with his own Buffalo Missile. The Black Lio Convoy In an argument whether the Maximals or the Predacons were stronger, Bighorn brought up his Buffalo Missile in the Maximals' favor. Who Is the Strongest Warrior!?

Seeking to avenge Lio Convoy getting hurt in battle, Bighorn readied his Buffalo Missile to take down the Galvatron Dekazura Tank. When, with a lot of bombast, he fired, it did nothing against the tank and Bighorn had to run. Demolish the Superdreadnought Tank! While Bighorn, Scuba, and Scylla were violently working through a romantic misunderstanding, the Predacons attacked. The common enemy allowed them to put their differences aside in order to fight back. As one, Scuba unleashed his rapid fire Dynamite Surumerang: Wild Shot and Bighorn had Scylla pull his tail so he could utilize his Buffalo Missile. He declared that his attack was fueled by the "power of his love" and it was more than enough to send the Predacons running. Realize the Forbidden Love!

PULL MY TAIL!
  • Buffalo Missile, like Diver Attack, originates as a toy gimmick. As Beast Wars II made it a point to promote the toys' versatility, such gimmicks were given fictional presence. The fiction takes it a step further with the Buffalo Missile, though, in its very literal use of the manual aspect of Bighorn's toy's action feature.
