After deserting the Autobots, Goldbug and Blaster approached the industrialist G.B. Blackrock for information on the Decepticons. Although Blackrock reported that there had been suspicious activity involving oil tankers disappearing in the Caribbean, they instead went to check out a fallen meteor in northern Arizona. Shockwave's Decepticons captured an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea, but when they got it back to their island base, Ratbat discovered that it had already offloaded its cargo. Buster Witwicky and the Car Wash of Doom
After Ratbat kidnapped Buster Witwicky, Shockwave held the boy hostage to keep the United States military from blowing up their Caribbean island base. Buster's brother Spike (who was binary-bonded to Fortress Maximus) commanded the Targetmasters in a raid across the island in an attempt to rescue him, but the island's artillery defenses overwhelmed them and the Autobots were forced to retreat. The island base, too, retreated, covering up its palm treed surface with a glass dome and rocketing into Earth's orbit. The Desert Island of Space!
After a battle with the Autobots on the moon, Ratbat's Decepticons relocated their island base to the Caribbean and opened it as a holiday resort for humans called Club Con. After the captive Buster Witwicky was named as "king" of the island in a television commercial, Spike and the Autobots sent Blaster and Buster's girlfriend Jessie to rescue him. Though they were unsuccessful, they discovered the Decepticons' true purpose was to recover Raindance and Grand Slam and the information they contained about the legendary Underbase. Club Con!
Later, Optimus Prime, Blaster, Spike and Fortress Maximus fruitlessly searched the Caribbean for the Decepticon base, unaware that it had been hidden in a cave in the Arctic. Cold War!
G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers
[edit]Having recovered a number of Transformers from the crashed Ark, Cobra took them to their island base in the Caribbean where they reprogrammed the robots to serve them. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #2 The island's coordinates were soon leaked to G.I. Joe thanks to Optimus Prime's Defense Matrix. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3 While G.I. Joe prepared for an attack on Cobra Island, their Autobot ally Wheeljack restored the personalities of the reprogrammed Transformers, causing a battle between Autobots, Decepticons and Cobra troops. Meanwhile, the United States government prepared to end the threat of Cobra and the Transformers by nuking the island. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #4
Arriving in the Caribbean, the Joes found most of Cobra's facilities were on fire and their troops fleeing for their lives. As the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons raged on, the Pentagon launched their nuclear missiles. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #5 Teaming up with the Autobots, the Joes managed to stop the nuke by shooting the warheads down with the SPS Satellite, only for the satellite to malfunction and rain laser beams down all over Cobra Island. Eventually, the satellite was destroyed, the Decepticons were defeated, and Cobra lost their island headquarters. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #6

[edit]Megatron discovered that the volcano on Montrose Island was capable of generating vast amounts of energy and so dispatched his Predacons and Commandos to investigate. The Predacons accidentally triggered an eruption, so when Optimus Prime and the Spychangers arrived, they were forced to deal with both the erupting lava and Megatron's troops. Eventually they managed to divert the flowing lava away from the holiday resort where Kelly was staying, though she was almost boiled alive in the island's hot pools thanks to the extra heat generated by the eruption.
