Charlex
Charlex (known as CHRLX since 2014) is a New York based animation house established in 1979 by Charlie Levi and Alex Weil. The company, one of the early pioneers in CG graphics, is known predominantly for their ventures in commercials and TV bumpers. Notable clients and campaigns include Nickelodeon, The National Enquirer, the intro for the 1984-1985 season of Saturday Night Live, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials featuring the cannibalistic little squares. They also produced animation and visual effects to The Cars' music videos for You Might Think and Heartbeat City.
From 1986 until the line's end in 1990, the company would provide much of the visuals and animation effects for numerous commercials for the original toyline alongside Toei Animation , and later TMS Entertainment for Hasbro. Most notably the ever-infamous Kidmation scenes and the ending cards.
