Dennis Francis

Dennis Francis (born February 1, 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a comic writer and artist. His family immigrated to the US when he was 7. After university, he gained employment at a Brooklyn newspaper, eventually leading to a job in merchandising at Neal Adams and Dick Giordano's Continuity Studios. In the mid 80s, he was approached by Steve Shanes of Blackthorne Publishing to create characters to fill their comic universe. While there, he collaborated with Bob Versandi on the graphic novel XL and created Jax and the Hellhound and Major Lancer and the Starlight Squadron. He also also provided art for other comics, including the Transformers in 3-D and a number of How to Draws for G.I. Joe and The Transformers. Following Blackthorne's collapse, he returned to work for Continuity Studios at their California branch, and founded a design and marketing company, DiD Publishing. In recent years he has revived Jax and the Hellhound and other titles which he has begun publishing on Graphic-Novels.com.
