Energon discharge virus

Not pictured: Massive memory loss.

Any Transformer infected with an energon discharge virus will slowly expel energon in the form of sneezes, until their power cells are completely exhausted, resulting in the Transformer going offline. Conversion to beast mode won't help, though the process may be slowed by an infusion of energy, such as calories burned by eating food.

The only known cure is a counter-virus.

Beast Wars cartoon

[edit]

Rhinox was infected with an energon discharge virus by Tarantulas, causing him to sneeze holes in the Axalon and fry Terrorsaur's tail. Optimus Primal consulted the ship's computer, discovered the dire predicament Rhinox was in, and dispatched Dinobot and Rattrap to find Tarantulas. Meanwhile, Rhinox was hooked up to the Axalon's power systems in an attempt to save him.

The Maximals later decided to leave the ship to confront Megatron, and Rhinox insisted on accompanying them. He was able to snack on the wild beans growing on vines outside the base to keep his strength up and mitigate the effects of the virus, but the combination of virus and beans had an unfortunate effect on his digestive system—unfortunate for the Predacons. The Maximals were able to obtain the counter-virus and treat Rhinox, curing him of the virus. The Low Road

Notes

[edit]
  • Energon Discharge Powder is the Transformer counterpart to [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Sneezing powder|{{#if:sneezing powder|sneezing powder|Sneezing powder}}]].
  • The added fact that it's Vrobian may allude to said creatures' vampiric nature, and further correlate to the energy draining nature of the virus.
