Giza (region)

The Giza Plateau is a region of Egypt. Home to the Pyramids, the region is an archeological treasure trove, where scientists can learn about the history of Ancient Egypt.

It may or may not have something to do with alien shenanigans, depending on who you ask.

• Revenge of the Fallen's depiction of Egypt and Jordan, more specifically the pyramids and Petra, is somewhat different compared to the real world: in the real world the pyramids are located on the Giza plateau 80 miles from the coast of the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Gulf of Suez|{{#if:||Gulf of Suez}}]], which forms the most northern part of the western [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Red Sea|{{#if:||Red Sea}}]]. In the film however, the location of the pyramids is repeatedly stated in dialogue and shown via maps to be in the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Gulf of Aqaba|{{#if:||Gulf of Aqaba}}]], the most northern part of the eastern Red Sea. Specifically on the most northern shore 3 miles to the west. Likewise the location of Petra also differs between fiction and reality: the real Petra is located roughly 60 miles north of the Gulf of Aqaba but in the film it is presented as being in the coastal mountains just to the east of the gulf.
• The [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Luxor Temple|{{#if:||Luxor Temple}}]] is used to portray a fictional structure located next to the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Pyramid of Khafre|{{#if:||Pyramid of Khafre}}]] and is where the final battle between Optimus Prime, Megatron and The Fallen was filmed.
