Gutcruncher was part of the Decepticon force battling the Autobots for control of the newly rediscovered Arch-Ayr fuel dump. He was about to be attacked by Rodimus and Arcee until Soundwave called in the Mayhem Suppression Squad. Though Dirge was able to disable Rodimus, Arcee was still able to fire her bow at Gutcruncher. Thundercracker was able to encase her in a bubble of silence, however. The inability to hear the voices in her head distracted her enough for Gutcruncher to knock her off her feet with a concussion blast.

Later, after the Dinobots' arrival, Gutcruncher was part of the discussion about possibly tracking down some of the Dinobots to reprogram them into troops. When Cliffjumper said he wasn't sure of the idea, on account of his own universe's Dinobots being stupid, disloyal, and untrustworthy, Gutcruncher snidely asked if Cliffjumper was sure the Autobots were really the good guys in his universe. Cliffjumper told him to "get torqued". Dungeons & Dinobots

Transformers (2007)

[edit]
  • Signal Flare (Scout, 2007)
  • Accessories: MASER dish, 2 shields, "energon" chip
Shattered Glass Gutcruncher was repurposed from Transformers Signal Flare.
Released in the first live-action movie toyline, Transformers Signal Flare is a redeco of the Energon toy of the same name, transforming into a Cybertronic half-track MASER tank. Moving the MASER arm causes the dish on the end to spin. The dish can be combined with a pair of shields to form a buzzsaw weapon.
Signal Flare (and the rest of the Scout wave) were exclusive to Target stores, part of a Robo-Vision promotion. Signal Flare comes with a Robo-Vision Decoder which allows you to see the Robo-Vision Code printed on his cardback. Starting June 2, 2007, Target's website allowed users to input those codes to access exclusive content. This toy was also sold as a Farmers exclusive in New Zealand.
This mold was also used to make Energon Offshoot. The Signal Flare body design is also used as the model for the Attacktix Omnicon.
