Heatwave (dog)

Heatwave is a dog from the Rescue Bots Academy portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Heatwave is a dog belonging to the Murphys in Griffin Rock. Mr Murphy named him after his favorite Rescue Bot.

He is sometimes known as Speedy, Scoop, Bouncy or Schnoodles.

After Frank Murphy became trapped under snowfall during a blizzard and was missed by the Rescue Bot recruits, Heatwave followed them back through the GroundBridge portal to the Rescue Bot Training Center. The recruits didn't realize he was looking for help, and decided to adopt the dog, though academy rules meant they weren't allowed to have pets. Though Heatwave attempted to lead them back to the GroundBridge, Hot Shot instead decided to play fetch with him. The recruits proceeded to successfully keep the dog secret from their teachers, inbetween trying to work out what to call him. The game was finally given away when there was a rescue alarm, and Heatwave charged right past the Rescue Bot Heatwave and through the GroundBridge portal. After the dog helped them rescue a human from a water slide, Heatwave (the Rescue Bot, not the dog) had them contact Mrs. Murphy, who revealed that Frank was missing. Heatwave (the dog, not the Rescue Bot) was then able to lead the recruits to Frank so they could rescue him. He and Frank were taken by Whirl to get checked out at the hospital. Dog Stray Afternoon While the Murphys were away, Cody Burns looked after Heatwave for them. Blades had Medix take over so Cody could visit the aquarium, and the recruit attempted to use one of his especially compiled lists to take care of the dog, only to find Heatwave wasn't keen on doing things his way. After Heatwave chased after some cleaning bots, Medix instead let Heatwave take the lead and the pair spent some enjoyable time together, even learning to play dead, until Cody returned.
