The Rescue Bot Training Center, as it was originally dubbed, is a large facility intended to train new Rescue Bots. As it has grown in size and technology and taken on a class of students, it has been renamed the Rescue Bot Training Academy. Located along the coast from the human city of Milford, the facility is mostly underground, featuring a simulation gymnasium nicknamed "Hero Hall", a massive reconfigurable Rescue Arena, and a GroundBridge which was originally linked to Griffin Rock but has since been upgraded to a space bridge capable of reaching Cybertron. Above ground, the base resembles a Cybertronian building topped with a landing pad, and has a racing track available for speed practice. In its early days, the facility was run by a hi-tech computer with a hologram interface of scientist Elma Hendrickson.

The initial plans for the base came from Optimus Prime. Stage one of the work required building the GroundBridge, and Graham and Boulder also visited the Hall of Inspiration to check out the architecture section. New Normal With Doc Greene's help, they constructed the Griffin Rock end of the Groundbridge while Salvage and Blurr built the other end. Bridge Building New arrival Quickshadow also joined in working with the pair on the mainland to construct the base. Plus One

The big day finally arrived, and the center was finally transformed with great ceremony, though Blades was disappointed at the turnout for his housewarming party. The team became aware that all was not as it should be — the Center's computer locked the base down, disabling travel through the GroundBridge, and the holograms disguising the center began to fail. The More Things Change...

While Boulder and Graham attempted to debug the computer system, the rest of the team tried to escape the base so they could repair the holographic cloak. Despite the best efforts of the computer to hinder them, they managed to succeed, and Cody also realized that CeCe Greene's security scan had been mistakenly been uploaded into the computer's personality, resulting in it exhibiting child-like behavior. The More Things Stay the Same

When Bumblebee crashed his ship at the Training Center, he also accidentally brought a small Energon eater which escaped into the center's air ducts. The Rescue Bots managed to chase it down, with Bumblebee and Blades capturing it before it could do too much damage. Uninvited Guest

The Morocco virus took over the center's mainframe, turning the Elma Henrickson hologram into a Doctor Morocco hologram and giving him access to all of its technology. Heatwave blew up the center's GroundBridge, destroying Morocco's MorBot. Upgrades Morocco survived and used the center's 3D printer to create Scrubbers which repaired the GroundBridge and MorBot. The Rescue Team were only able to retake the center when Professor Baranova and Blurr reached it by land, bringing in Graham, Boulder and Chase to help them de-virus the mainframe. Heatwave and Kade were later posted to the center on a permanent basis to train new recruits. Transformations

Some time later, the center had been upgraded with new utilities such as launch tubes, and renamed the Rescue Bot Training Academy. It took on its first class of students — Hot Shot, Whirl, Hoist, Medix and Wedge — to be taught by the four Rescue Bots and Cody with crash test bot Tough Luck Chuck helping. Recruits Part I Wedge's overzealous use of the rescue drill alarm resulted in him getting stuck in a launch tube as the tubes were in the middle of repairs at the time. The Bot Who Cried Rescue The academy's technology was not without glitches, as the recruits discovered when a girder in a Hero Hall simulation behaved unexpectedly. Gltich

One of the academy's stasis pods was removed to be cleaned, contributing to the recruits' assumption that one of them was going to be expelled. While trying to impress Heatwave, Whirl managed to overload Hero Hall and caused a brief power outage. Five into Four Cleaning the academy was a common punishment for the recruits if they screwed up. Blame Game Wes won a competition to spend a day at the academy with the recruits. Driving a Wedge The Galax was placed in the academy's quarantine after being brought back from Parvus. Little Plot of Horrors After Heatwave and Boulder brought rock samples back from an asteroid, one of them turned out to be an alien which ran loose in the academy until the recruits successfully captured it. About A Rock

The recruits attempted to hide a dog in the academy, in violation of the base's no pets rule. Dog Stray Afternoon Blades returned to the academy for the first time since classes started to help Hot Shot get used to his jet mode. The Secret of Flight Hoist and Whirl established an "Earth Museum" in a vacant room of the academy, in which they displayed human-related items they'd collected. Space Case Hoist created a cleaning droid named the Scrub-A-Dubber to clean the academy, however it went out of control and caused chaos instead. All Washed Up

Hot Shot attempted to plug his own video game into Hero Hall, causing it to merge with Chase's road safety sim and manifest giant hedgehogs. Hack Attack Grimlock joined the academy as a teacher, and no wall was safe ever again. Tyrannosaurus Wrecked A Triceratops got through the GroundBridge from Dino Island, damaging the controls in the process, and was lose in the academy until Hoist successfully overcame his fear of dinosaurs and corralled it in Hero Hall. Dino Hard The academy was overrun by penguins which the recruits had rescued from a storm. Escape From Penguin Island Cody set up Halloween decorations in the academy. Trick or Treat

When Bumblebee paid the academy a visit, the other recruits discovered Wedge had been using an empty room to house his Bumblebee shrine. Bee Prepared Optimus Prime visited the academy along with Hot Shot's old teammate Scorch after the recruits completed their final test. This resulted in Hot Shot quitting the academy to play Cube. Best Bots Forever Part 1 In an attempt to watch Hot Shot's cube game, the other recruits used the academy space bridge to boost the signal from Cybertron. Unfortunately this created a fusion plasma energon bubble when the teachers attempted to use the space bridge, and the bubble eventually expanded to envelop the entire academy until Hot Shot arrived back and helped the other recruits dispel it. A graduation ceremony was later held, with people from Griffin Rock in attendance. Best Bots Forever Part 2

For the recruits' second year, they were assigned personal training spaces in the academy, as well as personal tutors. Back To School Ratchet provided new rescue sims for the recruits to complete. Hoist, Grimlock, Sludge and Snarl retrieved a crashed cargo drone which was stored at the academy so Ratchet could attempt to access its cargo. Mission Dinobot Medix hid a bat named Mister Flappy in the academy while he nursed it back to health. Medix Steps Up To The Bat Perceptor joined the academy as a math and science instructor. Need to Know Grimlock temporarily took over Heatwave's office. During this time, Hot Shot stole Grimlock's cube and attempted to use it, resulting in the device escaping the academy and running loose. Trouble Cubed

After the recruits broke the control unit for Hero Hall, it ended up mashing all of the sims together into one chaotic sim. My Favorite Rescue Some opossums the recruits rescued ended up loose in the academy. Wild Ghost Chase Discovering the Galax still in quarantine, Medix planted it in the academy garden, resulting in it growing to giant size. The recruits had to remove it to a more suitable alien world. Little Plot of Horrors Chuck became stuck in a businessman persona, causing problems at the academy. Power Up And Energize Optimus again visited the academy, this time to encourage Hot Shot to master his Mul-T-Cog. Mul-T-Change of Pace

Medix accidentally unleashed some of Ratchet's diagnostic tools, which proceeded to cause malfunctions around the academy. Good Advice Hero Hall was able to project a live display of the Horsehead Nebula for Medix and Hoist. The Empty City Ratchet put the academy on the Rescue Network, allowing Whirl to access the bot blog feature. Bot Blog The recruits brought Laserbeak back to the academy after rescuing him from a stricken ship, and he was allowed to stay so long as he behaved. More Than Meets the Eye An increasing amount of damage taking place around the academy led Hoist and Whirl to try to track down the perpetrator which turned out to be Hoist, sleepwalking in his new dinobot mode. Things That Go Bot in the Night

Optimus visited the academy to give the recruits their performance reviews. Wizard of Botz While making repairs on Hero Hall, Hoist and Hot Shot accidentally let a rabbit escape the sim. Then a herd of cows. Then a dragon. One of Our Dragons is Missing Sludge and Snarl were left in charge of the academy when absolutely everyone else was absent. Amazingly it was still standing afterwards. Dino-mite Duo Wedge constructed a scale model of the academy, designing a new wing for it in the process. The Lonely Titan Hot Shot utilized the academy's race track when he tried to help Wedge get used to being a fast car. Making Tracks

Medix's loud electronic music disturbed the other students in the academy. Griffin Rock Rocks! When the staff and recruits headed to Citadel Secundus for a graduation party, Hot Shot and Whirl stayed back to try and create a sculpture to express their appreciation of their teachers. They were therefore the only ones left when an anti-energon field knocked Secundus and almost everyone aboard offline. Space Party After gathering some reinforcements, the recruits successfully used the academy's tech to remotely fly Secundus and prevent him from hitting Milford.

Citadel Secundus subsequently became a new wing for the academy, which also welcomed its second class in the form of Brushfire, Slash, Laserbeak, Sludge and Snarl. Crash of the Titan

Notes

[edit]
  • The halls have banners not unlike Hogwarts from the the Harry Potter franchise. Some even feature the teachers.
  • The Elma Hendrickson AI was written out of Rescue Bots' sequel series, Rescue Bots Academy, as was the Minimizer and the reconfigurable Rescue Arena (which was mostly replaced by the hard-light holograms of Hero Hall). Perhaps they upgraded their technology in the intermittent time between the two shows.
