Jipe is a Malignus from the Estrela portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Jipe (pronounced "ZHEE-pee") is a member of the evil Malignus, who is opposed by the heroic Optimus robots. One incarnation of him also hangs out in Axiom Nexus as a member of the Malignus Revolutionary Army.

Jipe was one of the Malignus Revolutionaries that chased down Jackpot and Hubcap after the assassination of Gutcruncher, intending to kill them with his plasma blaster. Jipe's misguided quest for vengeance led to a number of humiliating setbacks, including being kicked in the face and having a car thrown at him by Jackpot. Gone Too Far

Later, Jipe and the Malignus were at their hideout when two new arrivals named Treds and Bad Boy came around asking questions. They were looking for one of their own named Bug Bite. The Malignus were less than willing to help with the search until Bad Boy showed some style that the Malignus respected. After a brief tussle with Turbo, Jipe and the Malignus gave the GoBots the info they were looking for. They also showed up in the Heap to give Bad Boy some back-up against the fascist General Demolishor. Withered Hope

  • Jipe (Malignus, 1985)
A redeco of the Mini Vehicle Brawn, Jipe transforms into a (somewhat inaccurate) Suzuki Jimny SJ20. He was released only in Brazil by Estrela, and was available in two different color schemes: blue with light gray robot parts (utilized for his package art), and black with purple robot parts. He also has a new "Malignus" faction sigil decal in robot mode.
All of the "Optimus/Malignus" Mini Vehicle releases are considered fairly rare, and go for a fairly high price on the secondary market, particularly the secondary color schemes; in this instance, the black/purple Jipe goes for more than the blue/gray.
This mold was also retooled to make Outback.

  • "Jipe" is Portuguese for "Jeep."[1] Notably, in Portuguese-speaking countries, "Jipe" tends to be less commonly used to describe cars from the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Jeep|{{#if:||Jeep}}]] brand itself and more as a generalized name for 4x4 off-roaders, something not totally uncommon but also not as culturally ubiquitous in the English-speaking world.
  • The toys from the Brazilian G1 sub-series commonly referred to as "Optimus x Malignus" do not have bios, rather sharing the same names and molds as previous (factionless) Estrela releases, which in turn had the same bios as their Hasbro counterparts, only in Portuguese. As such, it is possible that this wiki page does not merit its own status because Jipe is basically "evil Brawn" as opposed to being an independent character.
  • Unlike other Malignus toys, Jipe was not used as inspiration for the Shattered Glass incarnations of Jipe's moldmates, Brawn and Outback.
