Message ball

"Message balls" are devices used to store holographic messages in. While inactive, they're perfect spheres. When they're activated, the lid extends and a beam of light is emitted in which the hologram becomes visible. No matter the angle of the light beam, the hologram is always projected upright.

Starscream and BB dropped many message balls in the area they knew was the home turf of the Insectrons. The Insectrons were not familiar with the technology and at first feared that they had bombs lying all over the place. Their misunderstanding was cleared up when Drill Nuts accidentally activated one and the visage of Starscream came out of the message ball. The hologram introduced himself as a Maximal and invited the Insectrons to an oil party on Mikazuki Island. The only one not to go was Scissor Boy, but he took one of the message balls with him and thus was able to show Mantis and Tasmania Kid Starscream's message when it became clear something deceitful was going on.

At the oil party itself, a [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Kusudama|{{#if:waritama|waritama|Kusudama}}]] version of a message ball awaited the Insectrons and the hologram it held urged the Insectrons to go ahead and start drinking. The Strongest Tag Team?
