The laborer (作業員 sagyōin) is a miner at Yatsugatake in Nagano Prefecture.

The laborer was one of many miners working in a new mine at Yatsugatake. In their production of new tunnels, they came across a large black object that was impervious to explosives. The overseer was brought to the site and the laborer explained that the object stood up to even three times the amount of explosives normally used. He proposed using a stronger explosive, but the overseer declined, not wanting to collapse the tunnel. As the overseer tried to investigate the object closer, it emitted a strange light and caused the mine to rumble, forcing the workers all to flee.
Outside, the workers waited and the laborer told the overseer that the prefectural police were on their way. Further rumbles and the ejection of the object from the mine's entrance scared away the workers even further. Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!!
