An apartment building's superintendent happily waters the flowers outside, pleased with how they're growing. Out of the corner of his eye, he notices a young woman taking pictures of the flowers, something he's seen her do many times before. Intrigued, he walks over to say hello and ask about her pictures, but a surprised Kahori sheepishly admits it's not the flowers she's photographing...revealing they're merely a backdrop for the photo's she's taking of her Transformers toys. The super is dumbstruck, wondering why someone her age is still playing with toy robots, but senses her nervousness and does his best to be polite.
Looking closer, he recognizes one of the robots as Optimus Prime. Kahori is excited to have met a fellow fan, and the super tries to play along, claiming he can recognize any Transformer on sight. Kahori asks who his favorite character is, and he immediately panics internally, as he hasn't seen anything Transformers since he got married. He awkwardly claims his favorite character is that one crazy guy played by Shia LaBeouf. Kahori is a bit disappointed that he only seems to know the movies, as she thought someone his age would be more familiar with Beast Wars. Despite his confusion as to why she is now holding a toy of a gorilla that turns into a robot, the super worries that the divide between then is only widening, and racks his brain for any Transformers knowledge he can use to establish a connection.
In a last desperate attempt, the super recalls a Transformers toy he got handed down from his older brother when he was little: a robot that turned into a base, with an elevator in the back for tiny dolls to enter its torso. A shocked Kahori tells him that the toy was not a Transformer...but rather Robot Base from its predecessor, Diaclone! Kahori begins geeking out, telling the super how cool he is, while the confused super is just relieved that they've finally found a point of connection.
Later, Kahori happily tells Satoko about all the time she spent talking with her new friend the building super. Satoko is baffled, supposing that all men must like robots.
