Backstreet was armed in both robot and vehicle mode with two independently targetable, laser-guided proton missile cannons, either of which could vaporize a tank with a single shell. Backstreet's Universe profile

After being captured by the Decepticons, Backstreet's proton missile cannons were taken from him, though the Firecons returned them before sending him to Earth with Sizzle and Fizzle to face the Roadjammers. Upon realising that they were being used by the Decepticons, the Roadjammers rebelled and Felix used their jammers to take control of the captive Autobots as well as Fangry, Horri-Bull, and Squeezeplay. He then used Backstreet's proton missile cannons to blast away at Scorponok before the Decepticon leader deactivated all the jammers and the humans and Autobots were forced to retreat. Ca$h and Car-nage!

Trigger-Happy!

Acting as a lookout for an ambush near Rivers' Town, Backstreet was surprised by the approach of Needlenose, Spinister, and Windsweeper. Panicking, he fired his proton missile cannons away from the town to warn the other Autobots but his actions caused the ambush to fail and he fled the scene, fearing that he would face a court martial for endangering humans. Some time later Backstreet feared he was being pursued by the Combaticons and attacked them with his heat-ray headlights and proton missile cannons, only to discover afterwards that they were actually military vehicles and he had once more put human life at risk.

Backstreet would fire his proton missile cannons again when he was discovered hiding out in the Cyclorama 3-D cinema at the closed Riverway Fun Park by Spinister, but missed the aerial Decepticon. Later, Optimus Prime came looking for Backstreet but ended up fighting Megatron instead. Just as Megatron was about to secure his victory over Prime, Backstreet turned his proton missile cannons on the Decepticon leader, knocking him across the ruined funfair. Trigger-Happy!

Backstreet can deploy a pair of chromed spring-loaded weapons (as they are generically labelled in his instructions) in either robot or car mode by pressing a push-button on his back end. These weapons were revealed to be proton missile cannons in his packaging bio.

Notes

• It's unclear whether Backstreet's proton missile cannons are like proton cannons, or launchers for proton missiles, or something else entirely. His Marvel Universe profile notes that they fire shells rather than missiles, while his Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile abandons the cannon idea entirely, explicitly describing them as launchers for independently targeted laser-guided proton missiles.
