Recondo watched Quick Kick, Roadblock, and Snake-Eyes do some recreational sparring with each other, until they were interrupted by the arrival of General Hawk. General Flagg then introduced the Cobra defector Mercer, who explained that his former allies had gotten their hands on alien robots. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #2 He attended a video-conference where Dial-Tone explained that they had figured out Cobra's next target: the SPS Satellite system. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3 Though the mission to protect the satellite system ended in failure, the Joes gained two allies in Bumblebee and Wheeljack. From these new allies, the Joes learned the location of Cobra Island, and began planning on launching a counter-offensive against the terrorists. Before they took off, however, Hawk received new orders from his superiors: to disable their Autobot allies and take them to Area 51, while Cobra Island was to be dealt with by a nuclear strike. When they learned that a nuclear weapon would react with the energon stockpile on Cobra Island and blanket half the Earth in a nuclear winter, the Joes decided to go against orders and rescue the Autobots held captive by the terrorists themselves. Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

After G.I. Joe met with representatives from the planet Cybertron and found them to be enemies of the Earth, Recondo was among the operatives sent to the metal sphere to invade it. I Saw Three Ships

After Wheeljack stumbled into a perimeter trap protecting the Joes' camp, Recondo assisted his fellow Joes in vivisecting the Cybertronian. The operation was tabled just in time for Wheeljack's friends to burst in on the scene and launch an offensive against the Joes. The humans returned fire, until blasts from both sides rendered all combatants unconscious. Funeral for a Friend

Both teams eventually awakened and readied to take up arms once more when Grimlock showed up, accompanied by Breaker, Jinx, Cover Girl and Clutch. Grimlock declared a truce between the Joes and the Autobots had been reached, and both factions partied together to cement their alliance. Form Follows Function
