Sedan is (presumably) an Autobot Mini Vehicle from the Estrela portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
He just LOOKS cold-blooded, doesn't he?

Sedan isn't much of a speedster or a fighter. But as the team's strategist, his ability to plan, coordinate his allies' movements and almost predict what his enemy will do is what makes him a force to be reckoned with. He's pretty cold and calculating, which is off-putting, but his track record is unassailable.

Sometimes he's white because it represents his cold heart, his detached self, his ruthless pragmatism before the horrors of war. Sometimes he's also baby blue because blue is the color of fun and sunny skies and friendship and he just loves his friends so much!!! :)
  • Sedan (Robocar, 1985)
A redeco of the Mini-Vehicle Bumper, Transformers Sedan transforms into a "penny-racer"-proportioned Mazda Familia 1500XG compact "family car".
He was released only in Brazil by Estrela, and was available in two different color schemes: white-and-black (used for his package art) or blue-and-black (per one of his original Micro Change variants). Interestingly, as with other earlier Estrela Microcars, his chest sticker is also identical to the original Micro Change version of his mold rather than featuring any sort of insignia.
Where the other five Robocars use the same package art (kinda, we'll get to that in a bit) and bios as their Hasbro counterparts, Sedan has all-new art and bio information, as "Bumper" lacked both, only appearing on Cliffjumper cards. This has led fans to speculate that the mold was originally meant to see release in other Transformers markets as a unique character, but there's been no further evidence that this was the case. The "character" goes completely unmentioned in any of Bob Budiansky's development notes. As for the art, all of the art used in the Estrela line is new: completely bespoke artwork was produced for the Eletrix and Bat-Robô, which have no Hasbro counterparts (in fact, both sets of those toys were released in the US by Hasbro competitors), and the other Robocars' have new recreations of the Hasbro art, with changes like removing Autobot sigils and adding the Estrela decals.
Oddly, Sedan would also be clumsily repackaged and re-released by an unknown distributor across Argentinian toy stores in 1985 under new packaging featuring the logo "Invasion Galactica" and art of a UFO blasting his cut-out Estrela bubble. Little to no information exists on these releases, with the most commonly-accepted explanation being that the repackaging was done to try and pass off the imported toys as nationally-made products to avoid protectionist taxation.
This mold was also used to make the "Optimus" Sedan.

Estrela

[edit]
World's Smallest Cold-Blooded Strategist
  • Jogo dos Transformers (1985)
A tiny generic blue car representing Sedan was included as a pawn in Estrela's Jogo dos Transformers board game. He is not directly named, simply being called the "carrinho azul" (little blue car) in the game's instructions, but his identity is revealed as a pair of cards featuring art of his original toy in vehicle mode are also included. He comes with a small sticker that's placed on the bottom of the car representing his robot mode, thus allowing him to roughly "transform" by being placed vertically - a little bit like what Robot Powered Machines would do about a pair of decades later.
This same car was recolored to represent Volks (AKA Bumblebee), Camaro (AKA Windcharger), and Carrera (AKA Cliffjumper) in the same board game.

Notes

[edit]
  • It's possible that Robocar Sedan is the same character as the Optimus-faction Sedan as the latter has no bio whatsoever.
