Talk:Elite Guard
Untitled
[edit]It's an offical term, comes form the episdoe guide. And in the card pics, you can clearly see Ultra Magnus and Ironhide bearing unique faction symbols.

- Yes, but you've put next to nothing in for us to base an article around.--RosicrucianTalk 00:27, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Apart form the first known members, and their outranking Prime, there isn't any other info I kind find.
- Then don't make an article about it. If we jump the gun too much, it just looks bad.--RosicrucianTalk 00:35, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Delete it. If there's no information at the moment, there is no reason to make an article about it. --FFN 00:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Pic caption
[edit]Okay, Big Hammer Bot (UM) is obviously "Thor", if I squint I can see Sentinel = "Cap", but I don't get "Flash"... - 82.10.138.152 19:05, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- It might be a personality thing. IDK. Kapu37 19:48, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- It goes like this:
- -Ultra Magnus = Strong and level headed leader tipe, with thunder hammer = Thor
- -Sentinel Prime = Being blue, hot headed, having a shield = Captain America
- -Jazz = Being the cool guy, being fast = Flash

Main pic
[edit]Should we change it to a screenshot of the Elite Guard Emblem? User:GWolfv2
- Yes, and move down the group photo.
- Also, The Flash is a DC character, not Marvel. --Hepathos 22:39, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Glad you guys liked it. I tooled that up because that's the format we use them in on the insignia page (rather than grabbing straight from screenshots).--RosicrucianTalk 23:09, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Jazz is Iron Man, you clods.
[edit]TONY STARK MAKES YOU FEEL HE'S A COOL EXEC WITH A HEART OF STEEL etc. (and yes, I know that if you want to be all wikipedia about it, ironhide is probably iron man, but whatever.) -hx 20:51, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
- Hell naw man, Jazz is a sweet playa, like dat bad mutha, Luke Cage, foo'! --Hepathos 19:24, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Elite Guard Membership
[edit]Just my opinion, but until it is actually mentioned in the show that a character is a member of the Elite Guard, or there's another official source saying so, like a Hasbro Bio, the membership list shouldn't be messed with. Let's leave it at Thor, Captain America and The Black Panther for now. (besides, we'll need time to think up more superhero references).--Nightshade83 20:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Dunno, why not put on the newest info scrubs we could ever find? I mean, the TF Wiki is essetially supposed be the biggest TF info source. Also, Blurr could be Quicksilver.--Hepathos 03:55, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Re-instatted
[edit]Doesn't Sentinel specifically talk about getting Optimus re-instated in the Guard? We should probably have him down as a former member. JW 14:33, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
"Prime" as indicator of Elite Guard inclusion
[edit]Is the claim that "The term "Prime" designated an officer's rank within the Elite Guard," really substantiated beyond circumstantial evidence? Longarm Prime, for example, is only called such in the cartoon (not on the toy), yet Derrick Wyatt tells us the Longarm is not a part of the Elite Guard. (On the other hand, Longarm is known to have attended boot camp with Bumblebee.) Anyway, with so few "Prime's" to chose from, it seems just as likely to me that "Prime" is what they call any group leader....--G.B. Blackrock 17:28, 13 May 2009 (EDT)
- It's a rank within the Cybertron military, and by extension that makes it a rank within the Elite Guard - but saying it's exclusively a rank within the EG is certainly not substantiated. - SanityOrMadness 19:04, 13 May 2009 (EDT)
- I don't follow. In the real world, we have military, and there are elite forces within the military. But not all military are "elite."--G.B. Blackrock 12:14, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
- By the way, why was Ultra Magnus removed?KrytenKoro 23:01, 13 May 2009 (EDT)
- Because Sentinel Prime says in Decepticon Air that he'll have to step down from the EG to become acting Magnus. Ergo, the Magnus is not a member of the Elite Guard, but above it. - SanityOrMadness 07:23, 14 May 2009 (EDT)
- But wasn't Ultra Magnus clearly stated to be a member of the Elite Guard? Is it possible that it's just a special circumstance for Sentinel?KrytenKoro 13:54, 14 May 2009 (EDT)
- I see no cause for confusion. Whenever someone is uplifted to a new position--in this case, "leader"--their old position ("second-in-command") is vacated, and everybody moves up a step. It's as true for the Elite Guard as for any other organization. You can't be your own underling. I also question the removal of Ultra Magnus from this category. He's wearing the symbol, for goodness' sake. --Thylacine 2000 14:23, 14 May 2009 (EDT)
- But if to serve in the Elite Guard is to serve directly underneath the Magnus, the Magnus *can't* be a member, since the Magnus can't serve under themselves!
- As for the symbol... it might be the Magnus' symbol, which the EG wear to signify they're under the Magnus' direct command. - SanityOrMadness 15:39, 17 May 2009 (EDT)

- Does the flashback in Endgame Part 1, whereby we learn that Optimus became Prime after his explusion from the Elite Guard, have any bearing on this?--G.B. Blackrock 12:13, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
- Optimus was made Prime after getting his own ship, making Prime sound like "Captain." - Starfield 12:51, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
Optimus is a former member?
[edit]Why is Optimus listed as a former member? I don't recall anything saying he was ever Elite Guard in the first place, or that he was "demoted" to the space bridge crew rather than simply assigned there. --KilMichaelMcC 23:15, 13 May 2009 (EDT)
- I can't be sure of the episode (I think Mission Accomplished) Sentinel says he can get Optimus reinstated in the Elite Guard. Just look around in the first part of Season Two where the EG appeared and you'll probably find it in the trivia.--AWT88 23:32, 13 May 2009 (EDT)
- Yet "The Arrival" issue 1 said Prime did not graduate from the Academy, meaning he couldn't have been EG.--Thylacine 2000 14:32, 14 May 2009 (EDT)
"Alleged"?
[edit]"Arrival" also depicts Longarm wearing the EG symbol, and in Autoboot Camp he says he wants to be an EG intelligence officer... which is exactly where he ends up. I'm seeing an awful lot of "But Derrick said!" popping up in these discussions, and I really don't think that should be the be-all end-all when there are other actual published facts in dispute. I sure as heck think a packaging blurb outranks Twitter.--Thylacine 2000 14:32, 14 May 2009 (EDT)
- You are right. - Starfield 12:51, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
Blurr
[edit]Blurr is clearly a former member. If it is revealed in a future episode that what we saw is not what we saw (Blurr getting incinerated), then he will probably have some recovery time before he is reinstated into active service. - Starfield 12:51, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
Introduction
[edit]You know... considering this sucker has about four different versions going on now, at least one of which is going to keep getting new fiction for the foreseeable future, I'm wondering if the intro could use a bit of an overhaul, with some sub-intro action going on in the various sections. I'm just admittedly not sure how to tackle it. --Jeysie 18:18, 13 April 2010 (EDT)
- After giving it some thought, I think what I'd probably be inclined to do is give a very simple, generic intro at top saying how it's an elite force that's usually made up of Autobots and blah blah, then split the page into a section for each continuity, with each section having its own more specific intro/history, Members, and Fiction subsections. --Jeysie 10:35, 14 April 2010 (EDT)
Members
[edit]Where did all the new membership information come from? I thought I saw a litho on deviantart or somewhere with all those guys, but I thought that was a fan-piece. --Xaaron 12:54, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
- It was an official BotCon 2010 print. --ItsWalky 12:59, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
- Interesting. I'll have to look at that spread again. Thanks! --Xaaron 14:27, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
- That, and there was an official slide that named all of the members plus the names of the teams (with "Halo" being deduced as referring to the Giant Autobot through process of elimination between the two sources). --Jeysie 16:11, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
- Interesting. I'll have to look at that spread again. Thanks! --Xaaron 14:27, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
HFTD
[edit]The HFTD online game at the Transformers site has two levels of training for each stat (speed, strength, skill and fireblast), with the second level qualifying you as "Elite". Finishing all four skills at Elite status adds the Elite Guard "wings" to your insignia-shaped rank symbol. All this being said, the term "Elite Guard" doesn't seem to be used anywhere. I feel like this should be incorporated, but before I do it, does anyone have any opinions on how? -LV 13:14, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
Remaining WOH Elite Guard guys
[edit]On the litho, which ones are Padlock, Clear Out, and Windsail? —Interrobang 11:00, 28 January 2012 (EST)
- I see three guys that look like no one else in prior fiction, guys that look like Milne's typical spikey work. The top left, the blue bot, and the red, green, and yellow bot. Top right, blue, white, and yellow flier. Combined with the quote below the drawing. "these are all characters that are part of the elite guard in transformers. there are 3 that i had the chance to make up, only i have no idea what the guys at botcon will name them." Antimatter 15:42, 28 January 2012 (EST)
- Yes, I'm aware that three in the litho are originals. (You are incorrect in identifying one: top left is Big Bang. The white Hubcap is the one you missed.) They were assigned the three names I gave. I just don't know which names correspond to which. —Interrobang 15:48, 28 January 2012 (EST)
- Clear Out is the red one, Windsail the blue one, Padlock the orange one. --Xaaron 15:58, 28 January 2012 (EST)
- D'oh. Forgot Orangy. —Interrobang 16:28, 28 January 2012 (EST)

Redirect Removal from Icon
[edit]I would like to inform anyone from Administration that the pages with the Elite Guard logo still have the redirection to when the page was called "Cybertron Elite Guard". Can anyone fix those please? That would be a real help.--NexusShard17 (talk) 22:18, 29 September 2018 (EDT)
Longarm
[edit]So was he a member or not? The "List" says he was but that "note" says he was not (AutoTrooper2801 (talk) 18:39, 5 February 2022 (EST))
- Well... it's complicated, even though he isn't in the show, his bio says he is, making the bio a micro-continuity in which his is a part of the group.–DDog (talk) 19:42, 5 February 2022 (EST)
