Talk:Grotusque
I'm always cool with learning a neat new fact about a character I like, but don't just add in something like "and occasionally a Decepticon" without adding explanation of where and how too, that's just teasing. :) ZacWilliam
- I'm not sure where that's from either.--ItsWalky 15:28, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- ...shit, i was thinking of Repugnus. -Derik 15:28, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- When is he sometimes a Decepticon? --ItsWalky 15:28, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Repugnus or Grotesque? -Derik 15:29, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Have we just decided that his intro paragraph isn't going to mention that he was one of Starscream's TWW Predacons? That's where the "former Decepticon" thing comes from, as per his Dreamwave section and the TWW Predacon page. -LV 10:33, 29 March 2011 (EDT)
Alt Mode identity
[edit]Currently the text describes Grotusque as transforming into a "robotic winged sabertooth tiger". Based on the look this has with his hunched posture, especially considering his name, I'm more inclined to assume he turns into a grotesque- [called a gargoyle]. I'm going to go ahead and change it, but if there's some source that contradicts this, feel free to switch it back. Ayellowbirds 17:22, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
- That makes a large amount of sense. Works for me. -- Repowers 17:35, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
- I don't think his monster mode has any canonical title except "monster" or "creature." However, his name conveys "grotesque" in the sense of being "ugly and horrible" as opposed to the sense of being... a stone-carved monster statue thing. Likewise, Repugnus sounds like "repulsive" in the, well, "ugly and horrible" sense, as opposed to the original Latin roots of simply pushing something backwards. Given the extreme obscurity of the latter definition, and the fact that the Wikipedia article specifically says grotesque-statues were not the same thing as gargoyles, I'm going to switch it back but include the statue mention as a "note." I hope that's okay. --Thylacine 2000 17:38, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
Mistransformation
[edit]I think a picture of the mistransformation would be beneficial to this page. Besides, wasn't the toy shown in that form in the original catalogs? --Khajidha 08:08, 12 November 2010 (EST)
Color corect toy pic?
[edit]Our toy pic here is Way brighter and also way pinker than the actual toy. (Someone called him pink on alspark and I think this misleading pic might be why.) His toy is really more a darkish maroony-red. Would it be acceptable to use photoshop to try and "color correct" the pic closer to the actual toy? --76.28.76.206 08:13, 29 March 2011 (EDT)
