Should we get rid of "Alternation" 'cuz it's been there for two years. --Kaon Prisoner 19:36, 8 March 2011 (EST)
Well, Alternation has only been there for two months, but I think once we get some translations for this United story that's coming out through eHobby, we could replace it with those. - Chris McFeely 19:56, 8 March 2011 (EST)
So why haven't we done it yet? --Kaon Prisoner 16:34, 9 March 2011 (EST)...
I've been thinking that the characters who sit behind our logo on the main page are a little boring in my opinion. Now, I know this site is not aboutopinions, but why not put some dofferent characters up there? Secifically, high pofile figures such as G1 O.P. and megatron rather than The Fallen and the colorful guy from that BotCon. Maybe change ROTF Starscream into G1 Starscream but the former is pretty well known I guess. So what I'm trying to say is: why not replace some of the lesser known characters with better known ones? --Megatron Prime 18:07, 14 April 2011 (EDT)
Thank you for your input. --ItsWalky 18:12, 14 April 2011 (EDT)
Ask yourself, is it reasonable to turn the tfwiki into a G1 hagiography? If anything, the front page should convey tfwiki's mentality straight up, and that is that no shit is too minor and that Transformers is respected as a brand that knows how to adapt and keep going. Geewunling 02:08, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
Plus the logo already has an Optimus Prime, a Megatron, a Bumblebee, a Starscream, and a Soundwave in the rotation. --ItsWalky 02:21, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
My best understanding is characters who are presently relevant (ie upcoming or just-released fiction) are put in the rotation. Prime characters and BotCon 2011 characters, basically. (hey, on that topic, shouldn't Motormaster, Wildrider and Cheetor be added to the rotation?) --Detour 02:42, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
Thank you for putting it into perspective. It was not my intention to convey that we should turn tfwiki into a
G1 hagiography or whatever. So is that to say that the next inductee into the Hall of Fame will be on the rotation?
--67.142.174.22 09:19, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
We generally don't add anyone into the logo unless we get new full-body promotional art of them. That's why everyone is recent. --ItsWalky 09:47, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
The Hall of Fame section directly under the logo seems to me a bit outdated. How about noting Waspinator's victory now? - ¡Usa El Queso! 22:00, 17 June 2011 (EDT)
It's kinda more for site-relevant news. Normally it woulda been swapped out for another Hasbro Q&A, but there hasn't been one for some time. --abates 22:29, 17 June 2011 (EDT)
Ah. Understood. - ¡Usa El Queso! 19:50, 18 June 2011 (EDT)
I added Ravage (SG) to the social networking icons. The HTML code to overlay the text int he dead space to the left of him uses absolute positioning (a tch hacky) but browsershots.org shows it works in every major browser (as well as dozens I've never heard of.) Sooo... I'm leaving it. -Derik 18:33, 26 August 2011 (EDT)
Shouldn't Exiles go on the "current releases" info-thing? BattleBlade 20:09, 7 October 2011 (EDT)
Yes, it should. I'm not sure where though. --abates 06:23, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
Under United? That last area in that module was intended as sort of a miscellaneous catch-all for any new releases that don't fit the other categories. Alternatively, maybe under Prime? Isn't it in the same Aligned continuity? --67.252.49.31 10:20, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
The link's pretty useless. Have you ever overlooked that problem? --66.82.162.19 15:56, 20 October 2011 (EDT)
I concur with this. Is there another reason why that link is still up there? (Sorry if I'm overlooking something) --AutoUIMagnus299 03:33, 20 November 2011 (EST)
The page for Beast Wars The Gathering has been deleated. Why is that? (184.56.18.164 20:13, 4 November 2011 (EDT))
It's still there at Transformers, Beast Wars: The Gathering. Derik just got the link wrong when he got his bot to change all the links after it moved. I already brought it up on his talk page. --abates 20:24, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
I think it wouldn't hurt if you changed the wiki logo in the top left corner from its current Animated look into a more Prime-esque logo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.147.45.66 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
I agree! Given that Aligned/Prime is the main continuity it would be fitting. I'd happily knock something up, but graphics is not my forte. - Yuppie 19:12, 2 December 2011 (EST)
I rather like the white/blue/red look we have now. Why? Because you can tell from a glance that we sure ain't that damn terrible Wikia site. Redoing this site in a Prime theme would necessitate a lot of darks and blacks, and that would get rid of that distinction. We've branded. I'd like to hem close to the brand we've established. --ItsWalky 19:34, 2 December 2011 (EST)
I agree the overall theme is great and instantly you know where you are, I wouldn't want the whole page to be changed, I just thought that it would be nice if the main logo was updated, even if it was just the 'TransFormers Wiki' part, i.e. leave the Autobot symbol. The Prime word logo would fit, and like with the current Animated one change the 'Prime' wording to 'WIKI', I've had a go on Paintbrush, apologies for quality, —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yuppie (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
Our current logo also has "TFWIKI.NET" on it, but I'm hard pressed to see how to fit that in the Prime logo without it looking bad. Also I feel compelled to mention that the logo's restricted in size due to placement, and shrinking that logo down to fit makes the word "WIKI" nearly unreadable anyway. --abates 17:11, 3 December 2011 (EST)
What if we replaced the Prime-logo "Transformers" with "TFWIKI" (single line) and the light-slash-through-it "Wiki" with ".Net"? Use the fonts to actually depict our name. --Thylacine 2000 23:06, 3 December 2011 (EST)
I didn't know this was a Transformers WtKt. --Andrusi 10:18, 8 December 2011 (EST)
Speaking of logo changing, i wanna know how u do that. Im having problems with my title in my own wiki & i need to know how to change it--Jazzerprime 2:45, December 19, 2011
If it's on Wikia, they have a different way of doing it to how we do it here, so you'd be better off asking on their community central wiki. --abates 02:05, 19 December 2011 (EST)
I'm not sure what it's called, but on the left hand side of the browser tab there is a little image of a G2 Autobot symbol. Before BotCon 2010 and its Generation 21: Redux that was a normal Autobot symbol. Is there any way to change it back to the original symbol? --Khajidha 16:11, 1 May 2012 (EDT)
No, our "favicon" was always a G2 Autobot symbol, since the beginning of time. --ItsWalky 16:27, 1 May 2012 (EDT)
Huh. That's weird. I distinctly remember it being the other one. Oh well. --Khajidha 16:49, 1 May 2012 (EDT)
It was the original Autobot symbol on Wikia. When we moved to our own hosting, we changed it to the G2 one. —Interrobang 17:11, 1 May 2012 (EDT)
I'm thinking we should add Fall of Cybertron to the Nav Bar once all the pages relating to the games have been cleaned up from their current state (streamlined is the word, as there are too many useless pages to navigate relating to the FOC "franchise"). Also, maybe add some FOC characters to the cycling picture on the main page too. Dark of the Moon came out months ago, and sure the toyline is still going, but it's about to be replaced by the "Movie Trilogy" line. I say replace DOTM with FOC, or leave it and add FOC on a new slot. --Kaymac192 22:47, 19 December 2011 (EST)
We can add FOC dudes to the cycling logo image once we have clean versions of them. As of now, we don't, probably because it's not coming out for another year. --ItsWalky 22:53, 19 December 2011 (EST)
I understand, but what of the Nav Bar? How many slots are allowed, or is it unlimited? I started wondering since I noticed WFC's slot got changed to Rescue Bots. And while that's well and good, perhaps FOC can have a slot, as we are getting more and more information each day it seems. --Kaymac192 22:57, 19 December 2011 (EST)
Potentially we can have as many as we like, with the caveat of course that stuff underneath gets moved down further. Would be cool maybe to change the skin to have collapsing sections like Wikipedia's Vector skin does. I'm all for adding a Fall of Cybertron link once the Fall of Cybertron pages are streamlined. --abates 21:36, 21 December 2011 (EST)
I know I'm probably being a pain in the butt, but why every title in the "current releases" navbar is in quotation marks - except "Dark of the Moon" and "Switching Gears"? I'd change it, but since it's the main page, I'd rather ask first. Also, Happy New Year, guys. - Silvery 11:30, 31 December 2011 (EST)
Here is TFWiki.net's style guide on the subject. It doesn't list novels like Switching Gears, but I think they should be italicized. - Starfield 12:40, 31 December 2011 (EST)
Thanks. I could've thought of checking guides... Anyway, I think we could add the books/novels sub-clause to the guide. - Silvery 11:08, 1 January 2012 (EST)
Though it may not be worth mentioning, a lot of Transformers shows and movies aired to day. First, Rescue Bots on the Hub at 11:30 am est. Then Revenge of the Fallen at 6:00 pm est on FX. Then season 2 of Prime and The Transformers: The Movie on the Hub.
My point is that so much Transformers was on today, it should be called Transformers Day. Was there any other day like this ever before with Transformers media?71.162.103.239 23:20, 18 February 2012 (EST)
The Hub called today "Transformers Mega Saturday", but I think the FX airing of ROTF was a happy coincidence. --Sabrblade 23:30, 18 February 2012 (EST)
There have been times when on FX, Revenge of the Fallen is on, and on TNT, the first movie is on, at the same time.71.162.103.239 23:47, 18 February 2012 (EST)
In fact, it's happen twice.71.162.103.239 23:49, 18 February 2012 (EST)
Different networks do different things. The live action movies are popular films to air on TV. Such coincidental happenings are not uncommon. FX just happened to air ROTF on this day. --Sabrblade 00:08, 19 February 2012 (EST)
I thought the official release date for Fall of Cybertron was August 28? So why does it say August 31 in the schedule? -- Spydersix 18:00, 7 April 2012 (EDT)
Hey yeah, that thing he said. My preorder is set for the 28th. Also, WIKI, Y U NO have countdown timer to release date? We have with basically everything else major (each movie, the first game, I THINK the Prime premier). --King Starscream 13:31, 10 August 2012 (EDT)
There is a line at the top of the main page to disambiguate, but this wiki is not called Teltran any longer, so that line is no longer needed on this page. JohnnyMrNinja 18:52, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
TFWiki.net: the Transformers Wiki is the unofficial Transformers knowledge database of 16,131 pages that anyone can edit or add to! For the semi-sentient computer that can't tell the difference between Autobots and Decepticons, see Teletraan I.
This line is now unneeded, because the name of the wiki is no longer Teletran. JohnnyMrNinja 20:21, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
I think he thinks that we were refering to wikia days. Were talking about the computer from the cartoon. (184.56.31.108 20:39, 19 May 2012 (EDT))
This line is random from a bunch of disambiguations referring to knowledge things in Transformersdom, such as Rad White,Teletraan II and the Underbase. It's a joke, because we're also a place of Transformers knowledge. --Detour 21:07, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
Well, couldn't you make it link to that page instead of Prime Optimus' page? How long are you going to use it, anyways?
How about putting some Fall of Cybertron characters in the mix? -- spyder 03:45, 18 June 2012 (EDT)
For the thousandth time, I can add new characters when we get clear shots of them on blank, white backgrounds. FOC images so far have not been. I can't conjure usable images out of thin air. --ItsWalky 03:52, 18 June 2012 (EDT)
Well, how about taking off those Animated Stunticons then? Seeing as another BotCon has come and gone, I don't see any reason for them to be on there. 68.147.45.66 12:56, 8 July 2012 (EDT)
You might even want to replace them with images of SG vs. Classics characters (if you have the necessary images, anyway). 68.147.45.66 13:05, 8 July 2012 (EDT)
We don't, which is why I never did. --ItsWalky 13:25, 8 July 2012 (EDT)
