Formatting problems (just me?)
[edit]Now that the server has changed, all the formatting seems to have changed! Templates that should be on the right and next to the text (e.g. on episode pages) are on the left and pushing the text down! Is anyone else seeing these problems? --Flicky1991 07:06, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- It's not just you, I'm seeing it as well. --Boy Blunderous 07:09, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- We're on a newer version of MediaWiki, and it broke some of the templates. It'll be fixed soon, once we figure out why they're not formatting up right.--RosicrucianTalk 07:22, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- As I said on the Community Portal just there, various LocalSettings.php variables like $wgAllowUserCss and $wgUseSiteCss appear to have gone from "true" to "false" (or just plain deleted - I think they default false) in the move. - SanityOrMadness 07:39, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Go Box problem?
[edit]The GoBox is currently not there, no matter which browser I view this page in. --KilMichaelMcC 07:50, 27 March 2013 (EDT)
- Same for me. Normally when it disappears all I have to do is refresh the page, but even that's not working at the moment. -- spyderUse this! 08:00, 27 March 2013 (EDT)
- The forum signature GoBoxes are knackered too. Those just come up as a white rectangle. Something is indeed amiss. Jalaguy 09:00, 27 March 2013 (EDT)

Not On Schedule
[edit]Did IDW stop making TF comics? If not can we please update the Schedule? Phantom 13:01, 4 April 2013 (EDT)
- I don't keep track of the comics much, but I've had a bash at updating it with this month's releases. --abates 16:05, 4 April 2013 (EDT)
- That should be fine, I think so long as the next issues's release dates are on there. Phantom 16:19, 4 April 2013 (EDT)
Current Releases Series Addition
[edit]Dunno who added the series abbreviation before each entry under the IDW Transformers section under Current Releases (MtMtE, RiD, Spotlight, Monstrosity) but I really like it. Makes it easier to quickly tell which latest item you're looking for. Could the same be done with the other categories (Transformers Prime especially)? Excise 13:10, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Featured Article - October 2013
[edit]It's October 4th - is there a new Featured Article ready to go? - RolonBolon 20:49, 4 October 2013 (EDT)
- We're gonna need a new one soon. Escargon 17:23, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
I think the next featured article should be Bumper G1! - Bumblejumper 23:07, 4 November 2013 (EST)
- It's not impressive enough, since Bumper (G1) has barely appeared in anything. --Sabrblade 23:12, 4 November 2013 (EST)
- Yeah, you got a point there! - Bumblejumper 23:15, 4 November 2013 (EST)
TFP
[edit]I noticed that Predacons Rising is still under "current releases", but it's several months old. I just wanted to mention this. - Silverboltmtmte (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2013 (EST)
- Though the TV premiere happened back then, the DVD release isn't that old. Besides, we have even older stuff still on that chart, like those two Rescue Bots episodes that aired over a year ago. --Sabrblade (talk) 17:52, 14 December 2013 (EST)
- Okay.
Milestone page linking
[edit]What does everyone think about changing the Main Page disambiguation notice so that the actual number of articles links to Transformers Wiki:Milestones while the word "pages" links to the Statistics page? --Khajidha (talk) 09:39, 1 August 2014 (EDT)
Transformers Expo
[edit]Just want to ask whether events such as the aforementioned Expo, BotCon or TFCon should be listed on the main page. Optimus Prime (Convoy) (talk) 09:58, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- TFCon isn't official, so that's out. --Sabrblade (talk) 11:35, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- BotCon is always listed on the main page. Whether it's worth listing events for Asia which the majority of our readership wouldn't be able to get to, I'm not sure. --abates (talk) 17:12, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- I don't see BotCon, could you guys tell me where it is? Anyway, the Expos are pretty big in Asia, we've got some commercials on TV and adverts on public transports. Besides, I've been to the Transformers 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Korea, so I have a lot of information on that and I'm going to the one in Singapore soon, so...Optimus Prime (Convoy) (talk) 21:27, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- BotCon is usually listed in the schedule, though no one's added BotCon 2015 yet. Info on the Asia conventions would be fantastic! --abates (talk) 21:53, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- I'll do my best. Anyway, I've found four Expos in Asia, including ones from, South Korea, Malaysia, Macau and Singapore. They all share similar names (Transformers: 30th Anniversary Exhibition, Transformers Expo, Transformers 30th Anniversary Expo for the last two. They seem to be the same in a traveling exhibition, but I can't find any concrete evidence...(The one from Korea seems especially independent) Also, where should I put the events on the main page?Optimus Prime (Convoy) (talk) 22:04, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- Events should only have a page if they're specifically organized by Hasbro and/or Takara, though we have an unofficial conventions page for conventions which aren't. I strongly suspect you're right about that being a traveling expo, and that it started with Transformers China Exhibition. If there's no way to prove it, I guess we need to make separate pages for them though, perhaps with notes linking them. If any of the (official) expos are currently running, we could stick them at the bottom of Main Page/featured-series. --abates (talk) 22:36, 31 October 2014 (EDT)
- Could anyone give me a hand here? I don't quite know how to edit the table... Sorry for the inconvenience.Optimus Prime (Convoy) (talk) 11:21, 1 November 2014 (EDT)

- I like the idea of it being a Rescue Bots article - I Have Heard, or Blades if we don't want to use an episode page - in honour of IHHTRS being nominated for an Annie award. (The awards are on February 6.) Star Wars is a good option too, though. --Riptide (talk) 09:34, 23 December 2015 (EST)

GoBox Issues
[edit]Is the GoBox just not showing up at all for anybody else? I've been browsing the wiki and the GoBox is just...gone. It's not like the image just broke, the entire thing is gone. Did the staff get rid of it or is it just bugged out? (I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome, for the record, just in case it's a browser thing). MaximalBroadjaw (talk) 13:04, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- I'm having the same problem browsing the wiki on my iPad, which uses Safari, so I don't think it's a browser issue. I'm gonna hop on my computer and see if it happens with Firefox. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 13:08, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- Firefox is doing the same thing. The strange thing is, I don't even see the place where the GoBox should be. Everything below has been moved up to compensate for the loss of the GoBox. I noticed this last night, but figured I should probably wait until more people were awake to bring it up. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 13:13, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- So this isn't a client issue, then. Good, that means that it's not on my end that the error's happening. I've sent a tweet to the Twitter account about it, and maybe that could get a head's up going on the matter. MaximalBroadjaw (talk) 13:22, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- It's a conspiracy, I tell you! -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- Yep. I see them too. Thank goodness. I don't have the numbers, but I suspect the GoBoxes get us a large amount of our site traffic, not to mention being part of the site's charm. Glad to have them back!
- Just out of curiousity, does anyone know why they originally stopped working? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 18:14, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- There's an automated process that saves a copy of Template:Goicons which is what is actually used as the gobox list. Once in a blue moon it messes up and saves a blank copy and the goboxes break. --abates (talk) 22:44, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- Good to know. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 22:49, 28 December 2015 (EST)

Linking to Category:Images to be replaced
[edit]I was thinking it would be nice if there was a link to Category:Images to be replaced somewhere on the main page, perhaps in Main Page/editing-tips, so that new editors can find the category easier and maybe help us replace some of the sub-par images on the site. Thoughts? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 17:26, 2 February 2016 (EST)
Current Releases RID linking?
[edit]It might be helpful for the terms Cartoon, IDW Comic, Signature Publishing and Book to link to their respective articles, instead of requiring users to click on the series title then navigate to the specific pages from there. RevTibe (talk) 23:09, 14 February 2016 (EST)
A Nitpick
[edit]Hey, very minor nitpick here, but there's no comma in the "Speak, Memory! (Part 2)" link in the main page. I get that it's not gonna matter in 20 days, but still... (please don't stab me) Genitus (Talk) 08:54, 18 February 2016 (EST)
GoBoxes gone AWOL
[edit]I'm not seeing the GoBoxes at all. Is this just a problem on my end, or is it happening for everyone else? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 17:05, 2 April 2016 (EDT)
- There was a missing close tag in the XML. --abates (talk) 17:58, 2 April 2016 (EDT)
- Yeah, they're back now. Thanks! -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 18:39, 2 April 2016 (EDT)
Other wiki plagiarizing
[edit]So I was trying to find online stores for transformers and I found this other transformers wiki (http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Bombshell) pretty much all the articles are just direct copies of pages on this wiki —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Milthar (talk • contribs){{#if:16:11, 17 May 2016 | 16:11, 17 May 2016 |}}.
- That wiki didn't copy us so much as they used to be us. We used to be on Wikia, and then Wikia got progressively more terrible so we decided to leave. But then Wikia wouldn't delete the old version of the wiki, so it stayed up and has been shambling along as sort of a zombie-wiki ever since. --Andrusi (talk) 13:12, 17 May 2016 (EDT)
- They've actually started to make some major changes lately. I'm not sure if I'd characterize the changes as good ones, but they are definitely changes. For example, pages are being broken up by universal streams and character infoboxes are being added.--Khajidha (talk) 14:14, 17 May 2016 (EDT)
- If you're ever in need of a laugh, just remember that this page has stuck around for 1+ years without getting corrected. Grum (talk) 14:41, 17 May 2016 (EDT)
- That's doubly funny because they are (finally) trying to at least reduce (if not eliminate) the humor to make themselves more distinct from us. They also seem to be writing more out-of-universe text, but that may just be due to inexperienced editors as opposed to a conscious decision. --Khajidha (talk) 10:15, 18 May 2016 (EDT)

HELP an under-construction wiki regarding ads?
[edit]Hello, I'm the head admin of a fellow wiki currently in the final stages of becoming independent from Wikia. There is only a very small amount of things left to do before making the official reveal, one of those (and a rather important one) being ads. Can anyone tell me how you added the "Advertisements" port on the sidebar on the left? And how you added things to that such as a Donate button? I can't seem to find any useful info online. Is it an extension that is being used, and if so, in what way and what extension is it? If you don't know how it works but maybe you know someone who does know, can you lead me to a way to contact them so I can ask? The wiki URL is my username, but add a .org at the end.
Please and thank you!! :) Wikizilla (talk) 19:06, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
- The code to insert the ads is all from Project Wonderful. Once you sign up and create advertising space with them, they provide you with some javascript and you can add it to your site's skin. --abates (talk) 20:49, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
- Wait, so does that include whatever is used to create the actual sidebar portlet? As in, the actual box that says "ADVERTISEMENT" and contains these ads? As in, the entire thing included since I have no idea how to make that new portlet {I assume the ad code works somewhat similarly to AdSense code?}. Thank you for the response though! :D Wikizilla (talk) 21:51, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
- I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure from memory that the portlet is just hard coded into the skin, so it's not dynamically generated or anything. --abates (talk) 22:47, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
- That's what I figured. Something on Skin.php in /includes/ folder or something maybe? That's my guess anyways... Wikizilla (talk) 19:26, 2 September 2016 (EDT)
- It's whatever your main skin file is (MonacoBook.php in our case). --abates (talk) 02:42, 3 September 2016 (EDT)
- So in /wiki/skins/MonoBook, I edit Monobook.php? Ok. Do I add this to it? I can't quite seem to figure that out. Wikizilla (talk) 16:18, 3 September 2016 (EDT)
- Please man, I really can't get this to work... :[ Wikizilla (talk) 18:10, 8 September 2016 (EDT)
- Apologies, I missed your previous message. You'd need to add the code to MonacoBook.php, yes. SkinBuildSidebar would work, but you'd still need to edit MonacoBook.php anyway because PW's code has a section of javascript that has to be added at the top of the page. --abates (talk) 18:42, 8 September 2016 (EDT)

Food Network
[edit]Recommending a new page for Food Network shows that have Transformers specials. I'm watching an episode of Cake Wars right now, but I came in late and I don't know the full story. There was also an episode of Cake Masters where Charm City Cakes catered the 30th anniversary. I'll try to get some info scraped up to at least get some stubs started if no one beats me to it. --King Starscream (talk) 01:34, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure this is the kind of 'pop culture cruft' that is explicitly not covered... - TBR (talk) 05:05, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
- Fair point, but does it matter that it's part of an official partnership deal? The second one was explicitly an official Hasbro event as far as I can tell, with a representative of the company appearing on screen. I'm not sure if that makes a big enough difference or not. --King Starscream (talk) 15:57, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
Go! Box
[edit]Is anybody else missing the Go! box? If there are any, is there a reason it's missing?RedWingGladiator (talk) 07:43, 22 June 2017 (EDT)
- This isn't new; once in a blue moon the Goboxes break because the automated system accidentally saves a blank copy, which breaks the Gobox. MaximalBroadjaw (talk) 10:44, 3 August 2017 (EDT)
- And they're broken again, from this. I tried editing so it matched everything else in the template, but they're still not working, so if somebody else can perform the required percussive maintenance... - TBR (talk) 05:35, 3 September 2017 (EDT)
Performance Matters

Navigation menu
[edit]Should we remove Rescue Bots from the main navigation on the left, since the series will have been over for a year by this time next week? And on a similar note, should we slot in the Prime Wars Trilogy since Titans Return is currently airing and Power of the Primes is tentatively set for next year? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 14:38, 15 November 2017 (EST)

Adding BotBots to Navigation
[edit]We should probably do that. I don't know how to do that, or I would have. --M Sipher (talk) 19:57, 3 November 2018 (EDT)
In fact... is there some reason we don't add currently-selling major toylines to the Navigation bar? There is NOTHING linking to Siege or Studio Series or BotBots on the mainpage first-screen (unless you get lucky with a Go! Box); you gotta scroll down and dig out a link from the "Schedule", and the most obvious direct links are at the literal bottom of the page. This seems very wrong, especially given there are now three non-continuing series in the Navigation bar (which also end up in the "Current Releases" box on the right).
I feel like stuff like Cyberverse and Rescue Bots Academy should link to the franchise pages, not the fiction page. (Bumblebee I'm willing to quibble on (film) vs (franchise) but I lean towards the latter.) --M Sipher (talk) 20:59, 8 December 2018 (EST)
- Shoot for it! --notirishman (talk) 21:01, 8 December 2018 (EST)
- I've been saying for a while now (at least on The Allspark's TFWiki thread) that the whole Generations line itself ought to be in the Navigation bar, since it seems to be sticking around indefinitely for the foreseeable future. --Sabrblade (talk) 23:17, 8 December 2018 (EST)
TCG to navigation?
[edit]Am i the only one who thinks that the TCG should be on the navigation sidebar as all current toy lines get on there Arren1234 18:31, 6 January 2019 (EST)
I'd second that idea. I've helped edit the page and seeing as it is a current, ongoing part of the fandom, it would make sense to include it on the sidebar. MrRoboto
