Talk:Megatron (RID)

IS their any REAL evidence for Dimensional/Time travel in RiD? I was under the impression that this was just a persistant but never substantieted net-legend. Both Megs page here and the Pred. page have references to travelling through time or dimensions. We have a sourse on that or does it need to be taken out?

None I'm aware of. Although I kinda like the concept as a sort of "mysterious history," so I wrote something vague about it into Megatron's profile for the R2 RiD DVDs. How'd that go... uh... something like, "Whispered rumours say that Megatron and his Predacons may have come from another place... another time... but in the here and now, one thing is clear - all of Earth's energy will be his, and not even Optimus Prime will stand in his way!" - Chris McFeely 01:14, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Currently, I suspect that the "interdimensional" thing came from the story blurb in the first Car Robots catalog, but I have yet to get appropriately-sized scans for translation of same. When I get both, I'll post them up here, just to have it clear either way. --Monzo 15:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Um, since when has Megatron Megabolt ever been known as an upgrade to RiD Megatron? I mean, there's little canon beyond his toy bio, but if it was intended as such, wouldn't it have been written as "Megabolt Megatron" (in much the same manner as "Powerlinx Hot Shot"), rather than the current? If anything, the odd way of parsing the name almost makes it sound like Megatron is as much as a title (akin to Prime) as it is a name. Just curious, is all.. --Terrocon Blot 07:40, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Megatron Megabolt's bio is clearly written to be RiD Megatron, and the toy was even released in Robots in Disguise packaging. There's... very little doubt about this. His identity has even been confirmed by Andrew Frankel, who pushed the toy into store exclusive status after Beast Machines ended, if you really have to have additional confirmation. --ItsWalky 07:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I had not known about the Frankel part. I thought someone was just connecting dots that weren't there. Like if someone were to suddenly shout "Banzai-tron is REALLY just Bludgeon!" because they're both martial artists who hang out with CRABS. But yes, thanks for clearing up the confusion.
Considering he's a Predacon who recently became a Decepticon (like in RiD), is focused on wanting to take over/conquer Earth (like in RiD), and transforms into a head which is called an "Emissary mode," referring to "Emissary," the name for Fort Max's head component in the RiD cartoon, AND is in Robots in Disguise packaging, I don't really see how the heck there's any confusion here to begin with. BW Megatron didn't want to do ANY of that stuff. All of those are direct, obvious connections to RiD Megatron. --ItsWalky 18:04, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I put that info in the article. You can count on me to stear clear of "connecting dots that aren't there." I hate that kind of specuation. --Crockalley 12:35, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

God?

[edit]

Just out of curiousity, why is this included under the category of "Gods?" Unless I missed it, the article doesn't really mention anything of the sort about him being any kind of deity. - LBD Nytetrayn

I GOT YOUR ANSWER RIGHT HERE SNACK PACK cos in japan he is a ultimate god of destruction —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.165.241.232 (talkcontribs){{#if:07:11, 5 August 2007| 07:11, 5 August 2007|}}.

I think it's mostly because once he reached the Galvatron/Devil Gigatron phase, he functionally was a god.--Rosicrucian 18:22, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Hope no one minds. The Jedi 18:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Ain't seeing anything, since his interactability is the most notable thing about his toy,why does it keep getting deleted? i mean come on,at least keep an external link in the references section.Decepticon Rhinox 19:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

CHIPCHIPCHIPCHIP!!!!

[edit]

Is Shane Anderson or anyone who reads Shane's comics [1] here? The stuff on Megabolt's toy mentions chips.

yes, but i didnt put that there.. and why isn't your name written in there? ShinkisRule 21:36, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

It's not 6, it's 10 as a toy

[edit]

According to the Ultimate guide of the transformers, Megatron had ten forms (robot, Bat, Dragon, Jet, Claw, Car, Elephant, Cruiser and two devil forms) 82.17.140.55 19:36, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Hall Of Fame

[edit]

Should we REALLY be considering this guy a hall of fame member?--BlackStarscream 15:00, 27 June 2012 (EDT)

Why not? --abates 17:15, 27 June 2012 (EDT)

Multiple alt-mode

[edit]

Is Megatron/Galvatron the only character in this universe who has multiple alt-modes?71.162.107.205 12:36, 31 July 2012 (EDT)

Fortress Maximus begs to differ. --ItsWalky 13:04, 31 July 2012 (EDT)

Gigatron Z

[edit]

Does the toy explicitly say it's the same character? We count Mirage GT as separate from Mirage because of the ambiguity. Did the toy have a bio, and has anyone translated it? --flicky1991 17:45, 22 February 2013 (EST)

I've been wondering this as well. I think it should be a separate page since we don't know for sure this is the same Megatron/Gigatron. Plus has anyone seen this in Car Robots packaging? I can't for the life of me find any images Crossblades (talk) 19:30, 25 August 2015 (EST)
You should probably not split out, based on zero discussion, a "character" whose name is just other guy's name with a Z added. Saix (talk) 20:08, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
Yet Robots in Disguise has a Mirage with a GT added and Prowl with a 2 added, yet they get their own pages Crossblades (talk) 20:13, 25 August 2015 (EST)
For Prowl 2, adding a "2" at the end of a name is pretty much an indicator that he is a second entity. That one for sure can be taken to mean "a Prowl that came after the first Prowl." As for Mirage GT, that one's up in the air. --Ascendron (talk) 20:42, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
Prowl 2 getting a page was disputed to begin with, and "Z" is a common suffix in Asian media to indicate new incarnations of villains. If you have a problem with Mirage GT having a page, then bring it up on his talk page. Saix (talk) 20:51, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
I don't have a problem with Mirage GT getting his own page. I'm saying if he gets his own page, then Gigatron Z should get his own page as well, especially since there is no bio indicating he is an upgraded Megatron Crossblades (talk) 21:27, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
There's no bio indicating that somebody named Gigatron Z isn't Gigatron. Saix (talk) 21:33, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
Saix and I arw in agreement. Let's not go looking to make work for ourselves. No split. --Giggidy (talk) 21:36, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
How about a note then? Saying something along the lines of "it's possible that they are not the same characters, but due to the lack of evidence, it's being kept on one page" Crossblades (talk) 21:49, 25 August 2015 (EDT)
You are honestly overthinking a random Korean rerelease. They reused the name of the main villain for a reason, and it wasn't "this is a new character". Saix (talk) 22:54, 25 August 2015 (EDT)

The 100+ fanmodes

[edit]

As you guys probably know, there used to be a website detailing the 100+ modes of "Gigatron" that has been offline for over a decade.

http://web.archive.org/web/20040825134924/http://members.aol.com/zobovor/gigatron_modes.txt

I was thinking of creating a central page on the TFwiki for these fanmodes (A separate page from this obviously), so editors can play with their Gigatron toys to attempt to make these modes and put them on this site. And we can also take images posted on forums all over the place. This will let us attempt to make a copy of the old site. Since this is a wiki, over time all 100+ modes should be posted. Most importantly this provides a stable long term means to archive the history of this awesome toy. What do you guys think? -blackhawkup 23:15, 20 June (PST)

Gigatron Z packaging pics anyone?

[edit]

I hate to bring up the topic of Gigatron Z again, but I'm just curious to know if anyone has actually seen pics of Gigatron Z in Car Bot packaging? I can't find pics anywhere on the internet and the fact that tfwiki mentions it obviously means it exists, otherwise it would've been deleted ages ago, but I have not had any luck finding pics and I'm curious to know if any of you wiki writers have seen it? Or better yet, how do we know it exists? Especially since it is so hard to find on the internet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Crossblades (talk) 20:01, 26 August 2015 (EDT)

User:Monzo and User:Mimi seem to have seen it, and searches turn up relevant Korean websites. Its existence is pretty much a sure thing, even if we can't find packaging images at the moment. Saix (talk) 20:32, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
Do you think they might have a pic of what it looks like? Or at least know where to find it? Crossblades (talk) 21:00, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
You can always ask on their talk pages. Saix (talk) 21:03, 26 August 2015 (EDT)

Fixing missassembly Hasbro Megatron/Galvatron

[edit]

I recently unboxed an 01 Galvatron and was able to flip the ball joint slider by simply removing the single screw holding its rod in place and removing the slider before putting it back in the correct orientation. Maybe I’m just lucky it didn’t snap, but it felt relatively safe and was done in under 5 minutes without knocking out any pins.
