Talk:Minerva (human)
Heritage
[edit]According to the additional character notes included with the toys, Minerva is French (well, born in France), not American. Was this changed for the show? --Monzo 21:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- No, according to the show, her mother is French, and her dad's from Mont Porte. (Man, Masterforce is really unattended to on the wiki. I should probably DO something about that after the episodes...) - Chris McFeely
Old Stuff
[edit]Well that really depends Siph- is this article abotu Minerva the person, or is it about Minerga-the-Transformer-who-became-a-seperate-character-after-Masterforce?
I assumed these articles were human-first, and woudl be including a sub-article about their Transectors. -Derik 20:09, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
I kind of agree. I would think that this was supposed to be an article about the human, Minerva, who acquires a Transtector, and thus the primary picture should be of her as a human. Similarly I would expect the Ginrai article to start with a picture of the human Ginrai. I would be fine with having two pictures up there, or a single image that is split to to show them both.
(Wait a second... Transtector or Transector? I always thought it had a 't' in the middle there?)

Undies
[edit]Is a mainpic featuring a peek at a 15 year old's underwear the best the wiki can do? It's a nice image otherwise though, so is there maybe a clean version in existence or can anyone edit it? Geewunling 12:01, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- You seem really surprised that Masterforce treats its 15-year-old girl as a sexual object for some reason. --ItsWalky 12:48, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- No, I'm surprised the wiki does. Geewunling 12:53, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- I'm not sure that using Takara's own art of Minerva on our page collecting official things about Minerva counts as the wiki sexualizing a character. That's been done for us already. There may be less sexist and troubling images of Minerva out there, but they'd be less accurate. --ItsWalky 13:00, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- There are no mainpic-worthy images of her that don't have her underwear showing? --81.164.210.89 13:37, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- I just did a quick Google search; be grateful it's only her underwear. Seriously, if anyone wants to filter the hentai out there for a more suitable pic be my guest. --Emvee 13:46, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- It's a bust anyway. If there's a problem, cropping 70 pixels off the bottom of the image does no significant harm to the sense of it (since the page text doesn't lead me to believe "flashes her knickers" is a core part of her character...) - Mammalian Verisimilitude 14:08, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- Frankly, I'm adverse to censoring artwork. That's a bad precedent, and certainly not one I'd start over a pair of underwear. --ItsWalky 16:33, 18 September 2012 (EDT)

- Aren't you the one who said "full body shots preferred for main image". This is a bust, not a full-body shot of EITHER her human or transtector bodies.
- [Wouldn't the best mainpic be a shot of her in Headmaster costume, anyway, rather than civvies/robot?] - Mammalian Verisimilitude 14:08, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
- True. Something with legs would be nice. But, again, preferably not a screencap. --ItsWalky 16:33, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
Mail-in figure
[edit]Considering no one has apparently seen the box for this thing, I'm assuming "Minerva Night Beat" is just a placeholder name for the toy until someone can produce an actual box to get the name off of? Takeshi357 (talk) 03:51, 23 February 2016 (EST)
- We wouldn't need the box. We'd only need the solicitation that let us know the mail-in exclusive existed in the first place. I imagine the existence of SOME hardcopy material is why we have the oddly-parsed "Night Beat" to begin with. --ItsWalky (talk) 04:08, 23 February 2016 (EST)
- We've got that. - Chris McFeely (talk) 05:03, 23 February 2016 (EST)
Nationality
[edit]"Minerva's precise nationality is a bit ambiguous. Her mother is stated to be French, but whether her ambassador father is Japanese or from the Republic of Mont Porte is not made explicitly clear in the cartoon. Her father is, at least, explained to be Mont Porte's ambassador to Japan, which would suggest he is a Mont Porte native, but some sources, including The Ark II, have claimed that he is Japanese (by way of describing Minerva as "half-French, half-Japanese"). " Can't we just say that the "half-Japanese" thing was a mistake and move on? If he is said by the cartoon to be Mont Porte's ambassador to Japan, that should be the controlling fact. --Khajidha (talk) 11:53, 31 July 2018 (EDT)
- He could be a native of Mont Porte of Japanese heritage. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 15:42, 31 July 2018 (EDT)
Rewrite the intro pls.
[edit]It just sounds wrong and probably a bit NSFW. Someone should rewrite it.Poliwag06 (talk) 05:44, 12 April 2023 (EDT)
