Talk:Prime Nova
Sorry Walky, it's taken. -Derik 02:32, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well played. --ItsWalky 00:58, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Is it worth noting that Rodimus or Primal Prime (I can't remember) invokes Prime Nova in Wreckers #2? I realize we can't exactly list every time someone says "By Primus!", but Prime Nova's a lot more obscure, and there's a lot less to say about him. -LV 04:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how we'd handle that. You're right, there's so little known about him that a mere mention might as well be thrown up on the page, but a tacked-on sentence or a Fiction section just for the nod seem kind of uneven. --ItsWalky 06:06, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Is it time to merge this page with Nova Prime? I think the almanac implies that they are the same guy.--AnimatedForever 14:51, 17 July 2010 (EDT)
- I personally don't support that merge. The current Nova Prime article is nicely coherent and complete. A merge would be to the detriment of both articles.--RosicrucianTalk 14:53, 17 July 2010 (EDT)
- Regardless, we need to at least pay lip service to AA2's assertion that "Nova Prime" and "Prime Nova" are interchangeable. And then we can put "Also known as Nova Prime" at the top of this page and "Also known as Prime Nova" at the top of the other. --ItsWalky 15:11, 17 July 2010 (EDT)

Merge?
[edit]We don't know much about this guy and we probably never will, if he's even separate. This Nova Prime being separate from the other more well known version is like keeping Optimus Prime seperate from a guy named Prime Optimus. IDW Nova Prime looks like an IDW version of this guy since this guy succeeded Prima and the other guy was part of Prima's tribe. Maybe the designs don't match or the roles they play are different, but c'mon guys, isn't that what the IDW continuity is renown for? Reimagining characters. I mean look at Sentinel Prime, Zeta Prime, Galvatron and the Monster Pretenders/Monstructor Six. Similar situations. This character is most likely the IDW interpretation of this dude, be it intentionally or coincidentally, it looks that way to me.Transfan 1992 (talk) 01:45, 25 December 2016 (EST)
- This dude was only retroactively named "Nova Prime" in 2010. IDW Nova Prime was developed independently. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 01:55, 25 December 2016 (EST)
- That is true but when they do this type of stuff, it's usually to tie things together. The Almanac could've been trying to loosely tie this character to the one we see in IDW, maybe as an explanation as to what role he played in other continuities where he wasn't as prominent as IDW. Haven't the Almanac and Ask Vector Prime already become known for naming countless nameless charcters or tying them together to some other characters in some fashion? The hapless trooper that was rebuilt into a clone of Megatron in the Marvel comics was retconned to be a version of Archforce, who was previously just a toy. Even if it's a mere coincidence, doesn't it seem even a little logical to merge the pages? Same name for a guy that we barely know anything about, but yet is in a similar place, that is also part of the G1 continuity family. Transfan 1992 (talk) 23:57, 26 December 2016 (EST)
