Esso is an actual chain of gas stations. It's the international name for what's called Exxon over here in the States. So basically, this article might as well be titled "Chevron garage" or "BP filling station". 24.98.210.141 14:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

- The name Esso, incidentally, comes from the letters 'S O', for 'Standard Oil', and was used at one time 'here in the States' as well, before it was hardened and futurized into the Martian-king-name Exxon. You will note that 'Sohio' and 'Socony' also stem from the Standard Oil breakup; 'Standard Oil of Ohio' and 'Standard Oil Company of New Jersey'. Socony IIRC was later Mobil, now merged with Exxon. All we need to do now is merge Exxonmobil with BP to recreate the previously broken-up Standard Oil monopoly. :-/ Your uselesstriviapower has now been increased by 22 microwatts. Hmm, well, the garage seems to have no given name. We can't just call it 'Gas Station'. 'Masterforce Gas Station' might work, but isn't really any better than 'Esso Gas Station'...there may well have been other gas stations in MF backgrounds or elsewhere. The clearest distinction would be 'Gas Station Where Ginrai Got His Transtector', but that is stupidly verbose, so 'Esso Gas Station' is probably the best we can do to distinguish it concisely and clearly. Oddly enough, the station has a Shell Oil sign with Esso written on it...no trademark violation, I guess. 'Esso' has an oval with a curvy 'Esso' written on it in a rouge, blanc, et bleu tricoleur scheme tres patriotique. Oh...I changed 'disinterest' to 'lack of interest'. "Disinterest" is often misused as here; it means "characterized by a lack of conflicting interest"; a union-management arbitrator should be 'disinterested', having no vested interest in either party, if the negotiations will be fair. This article shouldnt' exist. Instead the garage owner should (probably) be appeendixed to the episode entry as an unnamed character? Plus a link to [1] I'll make the needed changes tonight.
I was thrown off by the shell logo, I assumed it was a fictionalized version of Shell Oil. -Derik 18:17, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I dont' want to put him in the episode summary, that queers the layout. I'm gonna go for something genetic, tagged as Masterforce-specific. That will have to do. -Derik 05:48, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
