HOORAY!! So that's one I don't have to muck with! Nice work, sir. :D -- Repowers 19:28, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I think that, if you'd done it, that monstrous summary I've farted out would be a bit more concise. :) - Chris McFeely 19:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Unlikely! I tend to summarize very lengthily, since I have no idea what's going to wind up being important. (I was very proud of myself yesterday for paring down several minutes of fighting to "there is a battle".) -- Repowers 20:52, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Don't agree with the move. The existence of the episode is acknowledged even in English, and it got an English title from *somewhere,* suggesting that it WAS going to be dubbed, and they just wasn't. It goes by this title everywhere else on the entire Internet and it's not wrong, so I don't see the point in defying that convention. - Chris McFeely 19:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

We're concerned with the end result, which is that this episode isn't part of the Energon series and references to it were removed. Officially, "Scorponok's Scars" does not exist. —Interrobang 19:53, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Except that every listing for the series does include it. Even when the episode was skipped out on Cartoon Network's website, the numbering remained intact, jumping from 32 to 34, acknowleding that it existed, but that it had simply never been shown. - Chris McFeely 19:57, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Listings and external sources of information are not the end result and subject to change. What actually makes (or doesn't) it to the screen is what counts. —Interrobang 20:05, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Interrobang. We should go with the Japanese title, as that version of the episode actually exists. --KilMichaelMcC 20:07, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Awwww, phooey on the pair'a ya, then! Phbbbbtt! :-P - Chris McFeely 20:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree with McFeely, mainly 'cause it feels very disingenuous, fingers-in-ears-lalalala to simply omit the episode from the nav box sequence (kinda like omitting OTFCC from the BotCon sequence, but that's for another day.) Still, I understand the reasoning for it, so I'll leave it at this: can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a dual-series navigation box set up for cartoons? Having two nav boxes on a page is just about the ugliest ugly that ever uglied. -- Repowers 20:52, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
"it feels very disingenuous, fingers-in-ears-lalalala to simply omit the episode"
We're not the ones who did it in the first place. —Interrobang 22:39, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
As for the template, this is the best I got it to be. I'm sure you can see the problem with it. —Interrobang 23:34, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Heh, yeah. Thing is, it CAN be done -- we've got the whole US Marvel comics series setup. I just... don't know how to do it myself. :[ -- Repowers 23:39, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
It would be a lot easier if the template wasn't deeply entrenched in Derik's "wheremi" nonsense. Then I could have just copied comicnav over. —Interrobang 01:13, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, finally found what's wrong. Yeah, there's a disparity in the spacing, but I don't care. —Interrobang 01:18, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't particularly care where this episode sits- but I'd really rather it was at either "Return! Our MegaZarak" or "Scorponok's Scars". This halfway translated title bothers me. -Derik 03:27, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

"Halfway"? Halfway would be "Return! Out MegaZarak", since it changes the natively Japanese words in the original Japanese title, bur doesn't bother giving the English equivalent for "MegaZarak". If those titles are to be altered from their original form to make them understandable to English speakers, then go all the way. —Interrobang 05:47, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
If we're going to translate names from Japanese to english, we should make all the Convoys Primes and Primals too! -Derik 05:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
And that applies to what, exactly? Never mind that the English Beast Wars comic maintains "Lio Convoy" and "Big Convoy", we'd also be making up names, unlike MegaZarak being a direct equivalent to Scorponok. —Interrobang 06:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit]

The navigation info identifies this as Energon ep 33.

The navigation info ALSO identifies Crash Course as Energon ep 33 (and the following episodes as also having an Energon ep number which is one fewer than the Superlink numbering).

Either the Energon nav should be removed and the Superlink nav bumped up to the main one, or all the succeeding episodes should have the same ep number for both the English & Japanese series. I leave the decision to those who actually follow the Japanese stuff... - SanityOrMadness 11:17, 24 September 2009 (EDT)

IIRC didn't we get an english title in an episode list, ti was just never translated? This isn't like... inserting "Scramble City" in a G1 episode list. It actually is part of the series.
I would call it episode 32.5. -Derik 11:37, 24 September 2009 (EDT)

Energon: The Ultimate Collection?

[edit]

An English version wasn't by any chance included in the complete series DVD set, was it? (I don't have the DVD, but thought I'd bring it up in case someone who does forgot to check.)
- ¡Usa El Queso! 13:15, 29 April 2011 (EDT)

Alas not. Some solicitations for that set did say it had 52 episodes on it, but it didn't, just the 51. - Chris McFeely 13:20, 29 April 2011 (EDT)

Return! Our Scorponok??

[edit]

I know the wiki defaults to using the English names, but should that really apply to the episode title? Translating the name of the ep from Japanese to English is one thing, but Megazarak to Scorponok is full on altering the title. Especially since there's already a redirection from Scorponok's scars there's no point in altering the tranlating Japanese title (since changing the name to the english name isn't the same as romanizing whatever the katakana was for the name). I noticed a similar problem with Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime which while it understandabley has that as the name of the page itself (since the title does exist officially), it also has the same name as the translated Japanese title (which isn't quite so proper since its translation mixed with a name change that...just shouldn't be there). I'm also pretty sure it makes for less of a resource since if you're gonna search for the ep somewhere most likely the title will (for the case of the episode this article is about) you'll either find it as "Scorponok's Scars" or "Return! Our Megazarak", but not the one posted now.--BlackStarscream 22:24, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
