Talk:Star Saber (G1)
Untitled
[edit]The entire fiction section need to be re-written, preferably by someone who has seen the entire VIctory series (Read: not me. I'll go ahead and move the toy stuff to the toy section. --FortMax 17:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- OK, never mind. --FortMax 17:15, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm up to episode 23. I might have a go. Also, the toy picture is of Victory saber User:GWolf
This entire article needs serious work! I mean, its just jokes at the moment with little or no content. If you're like me and don't know anything about this character, this page is going to be a serious dissapointment. --FFN 06:09, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- SAdly, there's not a whole hell of a lot TO him. He is, after all, a Japanese Good Guy Leader-Type. You can pretty much go from there... or, more accurately, stay right the hell there. --M Sipher 06:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- How about his major appearances in fiction, no matter how dull? --FFN 06:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, yeah, obviously he DOES things that need to go in here. But, well, he's not exactly deep, character-wise. --M Sipher 06:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- And not helped in the slightest by the fact that he's shallow even by those standards. He practically has nothing that would make him stand out except that he likes to go on about how he doesn't forgive those destron-yatsuras for endangering human-life/the beautiful earth/walking on flowers. Also: Needs in-universing.
(G1) vs. (Victory)
[edit]When exactly did we stop using "G1" for Japanese G1 characters? Interrobang has been moving people to (KP) and (Zone) and (Victory) for days, and I don't remember that ever actually being agreed on as the standard - but I also don't necessarily keep up. That being said, I am not the only person to be confused or displeased by these moves, so whatever our standard is, it needs to be explicated a little better. -LV 14:12, 21 June 2009 (EDT)
- I assumed that there was a debate I missed, and sanity lost.
- However I've also over-extended my ration of being pissy at Interrobang recently (I like him!) so I've only been objecting when the changes seem exceptionally wrong-headed.
- It's some sort of extension of the idea of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron disambigs... "consitency, characters by franchise" vs. "there was rampant name re-use in the UT, ncessitating this, and very little among the G1 franchises, so we can mostly get away with (G1)."
- It's a running debate we re-visit every year or so, with passionate opinions on each side. Consistency vs. simplicity/usability. -Derik 14:18, 21 June 2009 (EDT)
- Transformers_Wiki_talk:Community_Portal/Archive34#Franchise_identifier_consistency - Starfield 14:26, 21 June 2009 (EDT)
- I only did Rosanna (KP) and Dai Atlas (G1). Starfield did most of the moves based on this discussion.
- And, Derik, Jackpot already went over your UT example in the discussion linked. —Interrobang 14:27, 21 June 2009 (EDT)
- Not just UT btw. We also have this consistency for the BW franchises (not to mention BW as part of G1). Geewunling 16:17, 21 June 2009 (EDT)
Name of the Brain
[edit]In the intro section it says the Brain of Courage disconnects from the Transtector and is called Saber. I don't think that is correct since in the notes section it says the Brain has no proper name and I thought that Saber was the name of the robot when not connected to the battle platform power up. - Starfield 21:59, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
- No, it says the Brain connects to the Transtector, and the robot that is formed is called Saber. - Chris McFeely 22:12, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
- Thanks, I don't know why I read that wrong. - Starfield 22:14, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
Caption of the Main Picture, "Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs!", is (Badly!) Incorrect
[edit]Hi, guys. I don't hang around here, but hopefully I can help. I came across this page while Googling something else, and I saw that the picture of Star Saber is labeled "Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs!", and - after researching the history - found that it has had that caption since September 2006 (proof: http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=Star_Saber_%28Victory%29&diff=next&oldid=80409 ). Errrmmm...SRatSS is a separate TV show created by the "Voltron" folks at World Events Productions (as seen here: http://wep.com/SaberRider.htm ), and this WEP show has nothing to do with Transformers (unless you count the fact that Peter Cullen's voice is also in Saber Rider). You've had this caption on that picture for 4+ years, but it's incorrect so I thought I should let you know.
- On the off chance this post is legit: Thank you for your concern, but we know. It is a joke caption. We do that here.--76.28.76.206 07:39, 5 January 2011 (EST)
Star Saber Enban Pistol
[edit]Should this be in the toys section like it is currently, or in the merchandise section? Terrortron 20:31, 20 May 2011 (EDT)
- I'd say merchandise, but there is a longstanding unsettled disagreement amongst many editors as to the exact demarcation between toys and merchandise. --Khajidha 20:43, 20 May 2011 (EDT)
- Is anyone going to freak out if I move it? - Terrortron 13:59, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
- Go ahead, if anyone complains send them to me. --Khajidha 14:14, 26 May 2011 (EDT)

Victory Saber
[edit]Why is it that when I look up Victory Saber it brings me to Star Saber (G1). Are they or are they not the same character. Vectorwing (talk)
- how have you not just answered your own question --ItsWalky (talk) 21:34, 29 March 2018 (EDT)
- I'm 2 years late but Victory Saber should have his own page when you consider that Omega Prime/God Fire Convoy has his own page too -MahXyme/MahXymal (talk) 14:04, 5 December 2021 (EST)
