Talk:Superion (G1)

Can we get a new main image for Superion? The open mouth thing scan is better suited for the Dreamwave section of this page. I think something from the MTMTE profile books would do nicely, as well any well-drawn official modern image of him, to be honest. --FFN 15:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

It might have to be his boxart. There isn't any well-drawn official modern image of him that I'm aware of. Well, at least not any from the front where he's not getting his ass kicked by Predaking. --ItsWalky 15:38, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
None of the UK covers had a decent shot of him?
(I personally dislike Superion's boxart, I'd prefer... something else.) -Derik 15:42, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
His G1 boxart unfortunately kind of sucks, too. Didn't he get anything in DW's MTMTE? I found this while trawling google. It looks like it was drawn by Don Figueroa. Kinda Pat-Lee-puffy but not too bad. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the watermark and wasn't sure of its legitimacy so I didn't use it. Any ideas? --FFN 15:43, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Definitely not Don. It's Pat Lee. (Or Rob Ruffolo on a good day, hard to tell.) ((As I said, no well-drawn official modern image of him that I'm aware of.)) --ItsWalky 15:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Crap, why did I say Don? Especially when I said Pat Lee immediately afterwards? *slaps head* Oh well. Is it good enough for our usage? Otherwise we're stuck with rather bad G1 boxart, a well-drawn but bad angle of Superion from a Predaking poster, or G1 comic art that doesn't necessarily represent him correctly. --FFN 15:57, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
I was hoping to avoid that art, but, okay, I guess. It's the least of several evils. (And as long as we don't use this, I'm very fine!] --ItsWalky 16:17, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Man, Superion keeps getting screwed-over. He has a bad G1 toy. Bad boxart. He keeps getting his ass kicked in the cartoon. No good TF artist wants to draw a picture of him that isn't his back. Bad artists are all too eager to draw him. But like you said, its the lesser of the evils to use an okay Pat Lee-type drawing than a truly bad one. --FFN 16:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Marvel Comics

[edit]

Anyone going to update this? I don't know much of anything about Superion in the G1 comics, much less how "angst angst angst" works into it, since that's like 50% of Furman's G1 character work anyway.--MCRG 00:56, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

I'd've thought 'angst' was more the field of Silverbolt himself than his combined form with his teammates (and even then not by that much). --Ratbat 09:14, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Universe (2008)

[edit]

I once saw Superion in his universe packaging in the US. Strangely enough, it was at a ToysRus. Note that it was only one time, but he must have seen some US release. Maybe it was some kind of freak shipping accident on Hasbro's part?

Generations Combiner Wars

[edit]

Replaced the stock Hasbro image, which was slightly mistransformed and kind of unflattering to the toy, with two of my own pics, which are freely given to TFWiki. You folks can go ahead and watermark them if you want to keep them. Smf2045 (talk) 12:15, 13 July 2016 (EDT)

Limb Positions

[edit]

I actually became more active on here just for this; I'm that neurotic. Anyway, I redid the order so it matches both the cartoon and the toys. I don't know why they were previously (and horrendously, I might add) out of sinc with all of that. I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here. Banannixx (talk) 01:07, 15 October 2020 (EDT)

AOTP 'arm cannon' functionality

[edit]

AOTP Superion features square pegs on the arm (and square holes on the blaster), which, in addition to securing his blaster in the 5mm port on his fist, also allow the gun to be attached directly to the top of the arm like it's sometimes depicted (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:KTVS2_superion_vs_menasor.jpg). Worth noting? Kadeo (talk) 17:47, 1 October 2025 (EDT)

I think it is. - IGEBM13 (talk) 19:58, 1 October 2025 (EDT)
