Talk:The Transformers Continuum
Jesus fuck, this is awful. Are we going to give lip service to this thing in the fiction articles? —Interrobang 23:42, 11 November 2009 (EST)
- No. At least, I don't think there is any reason to. With all of the "it is believed that..." and "it may have come from..."s it sets itself up as an unreliable, in-fiction source. It seems the book has an in-fiction author who doesn't know all of the facts as to what really happened so it doesn't actually retcon anything. - Starfield 23:48, 11 November 2009 (EST)
- Well, the "new" information that aren't obviously errors or continuity flubs, we can address. Like the awful sentence about how the Seekers were "special" and that they "ruled the skies and were noble," and how their addition to Megatron's insurgence gave it legitimacy. --ItsWalky 23:53, 11 November 2009 (EST)
- I don't see how that works - they buzzed a crowd, shot up dudes and defaced a building. They're basically just 1950s "biker rebels". Given how bad the "noble" crap is, like that crap from the BW source book, I don't think we even need to consider it. --FFN 23:24, 12 November 2009 (EST)
Something tells me, this is going to be my favorite (funniest) IDW page on this wiki...
- This was Denton's work, wasn't it? ---Blackout- 01:43, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Denton had nothing to do with this.--RosicrucianTalk 01:45, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- I wonder who the hell did this then. Because this is worse than all sixteen issues of AHM combined. ---Blackout- 11:55, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Credits are in the infobox. --67.226.183.193 12:02, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Andy Schmidt, the new awesome IDW TF editor. :P

Title
[edit]Does it include the "The" before "Transformers" or not? —Interrobang 00:48, 12 November 2009 (EST)
- Yeah, there's a The there. Dagnabbit, fixing these redirects will be an ordeal. --ItsWalky 00:56, 12 November 2009 (EST)
- Wasn't that difficult, really. —Interrobang 01:36, 12 November 2009 (EST)
An apostrophy error if someone has the book handy.
[edit]I don't have it with me at work, but I remember there was one part where Decepticon's should be Decepticons' if someone can find it.--MistaTee 10:40, 12 November 2009 (EST)
IDW Forum outburst
[edit]The IDW thread for Continuum got gutted from half its posts, and DanielW's outburst is gone... --Detour 22:16, 12 November 2009 (EST)
- The preview or the main release? --MistaTee 22:43, 12 November 2009 (EST)
- Pretty sure it was the main release, but don't quote me. I don't frequent IDW's boards very often. --Detour 22:53, 12 November 2009 (EST)
- I think it was the preview. I was reading page eight of the thread and I hit F5 and I got a "Page not found" notice. So I hit the back button and instead of an 8-page thread it was suddenly a 6-page thread. --SuzyP 23:11, 12 November 2009 (EST)

- IDW whitewashing their forums? That never happens! </sarcasm>
- What makes this all the more eye-opening is that the mod in question used to be one of the more sane, reasonable, level-headed mods on the board. So the fact that he apparently snapped is even more telling than you might think. --Jeysie 05:43, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- I presume IDW forum moderators are actual IDW IT staff employees, rather than say, fans they chose to reward for their loyalty? --FFN 06:16, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- A combination of IDW employees (not IT staff, though--Tipton, Schmidt, and Ryall are all mods) and fans. DanielW's one of the fan mods. --Jeysie 06:56, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- I presume IDW forum moderators are actual IDW IT staff employees, rather than say, fans they chose to reward for their loyalty? --FFN 06:16, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- I think the forum post got deleted, the link does not go to the page anymore.--Sunjumper 09:56, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Strangely, no replies by Denton, Ryall or the oddly-absent Schmidt, even to tell us to shut up. I wonder if even THEY know he fucked up and are ashamed to admit it? Still, this kind of stuff should NOT have passed by 2 editors, no matter what.--MistaTee 10:49, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Ryall's blog usually has a list of new comics that come that week, but not this week. Coincidence? - Cattleprod 13:54, 13 November 2009 (EST)

- A fair number of people on a few boards are curious as to what happened. Perhaps we should host this outburst page on the wiki's server? --FFN 18:17, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- And make it clear that the guy in question isn't an IDW employee (as a few folks seem confused about that point). --Jeysie 18:28, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- So are we ever going to host the actual comments here? It's pointless to link to a blanked, zero-content page. --Thy, not signed in.
- Here's what I found sans links. Does anyone care anymore?--SuzyP 19:08, 25 November 2009 (EST)
- In my opinion, it's petty and in bad taste for us to archive material like this. --Jimsorenson 20:37, 25 November 2009 (EST)
- Considering we removed links to embarassing forum posts in articles for Frank Milkovich and Raksha, we should probably remove the links in this article for the sake of consistency. If we're going to let Milkovich and Raksha off the hook in regards to forum outbursts, then we should probably extend that courtesy to that IDW mod guy. --DrSpengler 20:49, 25 November 2009 (EST)
- As far as "outbursts" go, that was barely a blip. —Interrobang 22:39, 25 November 2009 (EST)
- That was an outburst?
- I've seen better ones. ---Blackout- 09:49, 18 December 2009 (EST)
- Seconded. I see how, in-context, it's both narmingly-dumb as well as "drama," but pfft.
- Perhaps spending my adolescence on Usenet has skewed my definition of "Outburst"? This wasn't even a rant! -Derik 11:49, 18 December 2009 (EST)
- I think it loses a bit without the multiple pages of him throwing a hissy fit beforehand. - Cattleprod 12:27, 18 December 2009 (EST)

New Avengers
[edit]Is not including it really an error? Seems more like a small mercy to me... --Magnusblitz 03:03, 13 November 2009 (EST)
- Hahahaha! --FFN 06:21, 13 November 2009 (EST)
Definitive
[edit]They keep using that word. I do not think it means what they think it means. I think the title is the worst part of the book. If they want to deliberately make a dumbed-down summary with a casual relationship to the actual events that's fine with me I guess. Just don't call it "The Definitive..." anything. That is just insulting. - Starfield 10:55, 27 November 2009 (EST)
- Is there a point to this? —Interrobang 10:58, 27 November 2009 (EST)
- I think the title itself is an error, since they deliberately set out to make something less than definitive? - Starfield 11:00, 27 November 2009 (EST)
Errors?
[edit]If changes like Megatron being a slave were intentional, then how does it count as an error? --24.69.64.254 22:05, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
- Because this "change" been ignored by every writer since. --Nu-Priest 22:38, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
Should the mention of Spotlight: Wheelie as an error be changed since Robots in Disguise resolves the plothole? Tindalos 21:44, 7 May 2013 (EDT)
