Talk:Theft of the Golden Disk
For those of us who werent there, can you please provide a bit more introductory information? What is this? Cel-animation or CG? Who made it? How long is it? Thanks, PacifistPrime.
- It was CGI. I'll see if I can figger out the best place to drop that info. --ItsWalky 04:31, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
The short is now available online. I've added links to parts 1 and 2 on YouTube. Cyberlink420 19:13, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
So, did Megatron ever do anything himself?
[edit]This IS the guy who sits in the bathtub, allowing others to do all the legwork for him. This is also the guy who stole all of Tarantulas' work in the series finale. (Unless, of course, you want to insinuate that Tarantulas having dug up the Nemesis is an insult to Megatron because Megatron himself didn't do it.) In fact, Tarantulas does ALL of Megatron's technological work. Megatron is not an inventor. Megatron is not an engineer. Megatron steals the work of those around him and takes the glory for himself. Megatron yoinking things from Cryotek is consistent with everything we've ever known about Megatron. --ItsWalky 19:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

- Never put off 'til tomorrow what you can get some other bastard to do today. --M Sipher 21:09, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Previous
[edit]Why is "Intimidation Game" listed as the previous issue? I'm pretty sure it's been said by FP that 2005's stuff is a separate continuity area. (For example, the DiE Flamewar doesn't eventually become Razor's Edge Flamewar. They're different iterations.)--ItsWalky 01:36, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- If Timelines is a single... I dunno, publication? Story area?, then it all ought to be linked together. The UK comic chains don't get broken just because Peace is a separate continuity from Earthforce. -- Repowers 18:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- But they seem to be placed in an in-universe chronlogical order. If you want to just string up all the Timelines stuff according to issues and release, "Theft of the Golden Disc" should come after "Games of Deception." --ItsWalky 19:10, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- That'd be fine -- I put it in that order solely 'cause I didn't notice that Theft came along a year after Dawn.
- I suppose there's also something to be said for keeping the in-continuity stories together and in chronological order, too. The Timelines link in the nav box does provide a way back to the main Timelines page, though the absence of a "next" link kinda makes it look like that's all there is. Could we get some input from the rest of our studio audience on this? -- Repowers 19:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose grouping like-stories together and then positioning them by BotCon year was probably the best solution after all. I made a booboo! --ItsWalky 19:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- It might be worth pursuing a sort of 'follow the story' navigation system that lets you go to what comes next even if it's... not instinctive. Sounds potentially complicated though. -Derik 19:24, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Max Cops
[edit]I edited the Featured Characters list partly b/c Getout and Shatterpoint were listed twice, but also I don't see a lot of the Max Cops actually making appearances in the movie. For reference, I saw Shatterpoint and Stopgap with the blue helicopter. 9K, High Beam and Switchblade were with an unknown Max Cop with a brownish design against Dinobot. I didn't see any recognizable models in the crew that caught Cryotek. I didn't see Getout, Overshoot, Nitrostreak or Tigatron at all in the video. Anyone see otherwise? --Xaaron 21:45, 8 March 2010 (EST)
Design inconsistency
[edit]Unless there's a comic or something that explains it, this video's Megatron design is highly inconsistent with the pre-earth form that Megatron has in the first episode of Beast Wars. - Buddy —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.54.204.179 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}. 03:44, 17 March 2010 (EST)
- There is. Dawn of Future's Past showed Megatron's "Red Alert suit" detaches, revealing the inner robot we saw in Beast Wars, part 1. --ItsWalky 08:30, 17 March 2010 (EDT)
Any Release?
[edit]It doesn't say so on the page so I was wondering if this had seen commercial release like as a bonus feature on some DVD? If so maybe that should added to the page? --Indridcold13 20:57, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
- It has not. It was only screened at BotCon 2007 and later put on YouTube. --Sabrblade 22:02, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
Maximals
[edit]Do we really need Unnamed Maximal security guard 1, 2, 3, or Unnamed MCSF Member? Considering how many generic, unnamed Maximals that appear, can't we just say Maximal Security guards, or MCSF memebers instead of this current naming? -west james/notirishman (talk) 22:58, 1 February 2018 (EST)
- The Maximal Security Guards I put in there because they showed up for more than 2 seconds, and the first 2 had voice lines. The unnamed guy, though we can probably get rid of. Escargon (talk) 23:19, 1 February 2018 (EST)
- Wait, so which one, the helicopter, mcsf guy, or Maximal Security guard 3? -west james/notirishman (talk) 07:19, 2 February 2018 (EST)
- The unnamed MCSF guy. Didn't notice until my second time viewing there was a bunch of generic Clocker-types. Escargon (talk) 07:32, 2 February 2018 (EST)
- Oh okay, thanks. -west james/notirishman (talk) 15:56, 2 February 2018 (EST)
