Drones?

[edit]

What makes these guys drones? So far in the cartoon they seem to be generic Decepticons. Who don't talk much. Also, where is their name from? - Starfield 18:16, 27 November 2010 (EST)

They were named in the comic, if I recall correctly. If they're not drones, the Autobots sure don't seem to have too many qualms about killing them.--RosicrucianTalk 18:18, 27 November 2010 (EST)
Starscream refers to them as drones in the second episode. Not sure if he's just referring to the miners or not though. --abates 18:35, 27 November 2010 (EST)
"The drones have been mining in you absence." The drones pictured mining were far away, but didn't seem to have the same silhouette as the Eradicons. - Starfield 18:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)

Deus ex Machina muddies the issue somewhat further with Starscream's comment that "The crew took a vote", which would seem to be beyond the capability of drones. Although then he does go and randomly murder one. Of course, I suppose the crew he was referring to could have been named Decepticons aboard the Nemesis that haven't been shown yet, the same way there's nothing to suggest Makeshift wasn't aboard during Darkness Rising. 82.15.246.28 16:31, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

Yeah, that would be my guess. I can't imagine non-living drones taking a vote would be something Screamer would care about, so we have to assume there are other Cons on the ship...--76.28.76.206 16:55, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
They call them drones so they can show their robotic guts getting ripped out in a cartoon. Otherwise they can vote and disagree with Starscream and stuff as much as they want. - Starfield 17:13, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
They seem to follow the same 'rules' as Star Wars' Stormtroopers or GI Joe's Cobra Vipers. They may be intelligent, but they're just disposable troop fodder. A drone doesn't have to be mindless, after all, and it's pretty clear that the Vehicons have some degree of intelligence. So they're not the same as the drones from Beast Machines. As for the Autobots pounding on them, that's been explicitly answered - it's because they're part of the Decepticon's warrior caste. The Autobots are far more merciful to the worker caste Decepticons... typically. - Vanguard 18:28, 16 January 2012 (EST)

Is it possible that they lack a spark in the traditional sense? This would explain their being somewhat sentient, but not being "alive", and thus being disposable

Heads?

[edit]

May be just me, but do the combat and mining variants have different helmets? The combat ones have helmets like in War For Cybertron, shaped like a T, and the miners have Dead Space-ish stripes. Anyone else noticed?

Names?

[edit]

These guys were recently called "Terrorcons" in the new "Terrorcon Defence" Game on Hubworld.com Maybe add a note about that? --Kaymac192 17:25, 4 February 2011 (EST)

No, they were called Vehicons. Terrorcons are the Dark Energon zombies. —Interrobang 17:29, 4 February 2011 (EST)
But yes, you can add a note about them being called Vehicons in that game. - Starfield 17:32, 4 February 2011 (EST)

Jets

[edit]

Should we have a seperate page for jet vehicons and car type vehicons? Seeing as they are fairly different, We do have individual pages for each type of BM Vehicon. Thoughts? Grimlock140 18:04, 6 May 2012 (EDT)

Hasbro DVD packaging variant

[edit]

A packaging variation appears to exist, which includes a DVD of "Loose Cannons" [1][2][3][4]

Other names for Vehicons

[edit]

Seeing as how the jet vehicons are called Flyers in the recent episode, shouldn't that be added to the beginning of the page? And since they are called flyers, why not call the other vehicons Drivers?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 96.246.103.170 (talkcontribs){{#if:20:30, 15 October 2012| 20:30, 15 October 2012|}}.

"Flyers" isn't necessarily a proper name so much as... y'know, what they do. Also, we're not going to gin up a term for land-based Vehicons that nobody in the show has used.--RosicrucianTalk 21:22, 15 October 2012 (EDT)

Drones? Part 2

[edit]

Considering the latest episode showed that they were affected by the spark extractor, I'm starting to wonder if all of the drone information on this page is unnecessary. Starscream could have referred to them as drones as a pejorative, or referring to them with a different meaning than them being lesser than standard Cybertronians. Antimatter 01:24, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

Yeah, I think by now we can be certain that they're not drones. --abates 01:33, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

Jet/Air Vehicons

[edit]

Were they ever given a unique name in the cartoon? Shouldn't they have their own page? Mimi 00:21, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

I've been mulling over breaking this up between types, just haven't had the chance to put together the best way of doing so. --M Sipher 01:18, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

Seekers

[edit]

We separated the vehicons and decepticon miners, I think we also separate the vehicons and the seekers (silver jets). --Autocon 16:22, 10 July 2013 (EDT)

Considering the two toys of the "Seekers" are called Jet Vehicon General and Vehicon Ace, I think they're fine here. The Miners are explicitly separate from the Vehicons. Jalaguy 17:30, 10 July 2013 (EDT)

Chevy Camaro?

[edit]

FYI: According to Transformers.com, the Vehicon transforms into a Chevy Camaro. - Gimmick (talk) 11:50, 16 December 2013 (EST)

That is really weird, especially considering the rest of them don't get that descriptive with the altmodes. Next closest thing is Knock Out being labeled a "European Sports Car". Wonder if they just templated these bios off of a movie Bumblebee's bio and forgot to change the altmode label on the Vehicon. --Detour (talk) 12:08, 16 December 2013 (EST)

Haven't the Vehicons been SEVERELY depowered over the duration of the show

[edit]

I've re-watched the show a 100 times plus. I cannot help but witness the tragic depowering of the vehicons. From the first episode, where not even a series of punches from Arcee could effect them and requiring the arrival of Bee and Bulkhead, to Wheeljack and Arcee taking down an entire squadron in a matter of a kick or couple punches and in the movie where a single shot takes them down, the depowering of the Vehicons is the only thing more apparent the that of the Insecticons. Another depowering is their apparent need to watch the Autobots kick their comrades' asses before getting their own asses kicked. Tevatron044 (talk) 22:51, 23 July 2014 (EDT)

How often do the car vehicons transform?

[edit]

Not sure if im crazy but do they only transform in the first episode and Inside Job? Does anyone remember if they transfrom anywhere else because I do not remember them ever transforming. Would that be worth mentioning? PorkedPork (talk) 02:50, 14 September 2020 (EDT)
