Notes and disclaimers

[edit]

The info for the script reading comes primarily from the summary provided on this page: Prowl (Spychanger). It fits with my memory of the event, and though I can't vouch for the details, it sounds like this person has a copy of the script, based on the sheer number of characters they recalled.

However, I have no idea who "Thrust" is supposed to be, or what kind of details we're missing about the Spychanger guys, or who if anyone voiced all these characters (didn't some woman do Optimus?) Rhinox's VA wasn't even at Oatfuck 04, so Rhinox may not have even appeared in the play, instead being mentioned by the other characters.

The original summary is quoted here for posterity, since that page is marked for deletion:

2004 Voice actor play plot: Rhinox has built a device to deflect Unicron's attempts to pull victims from other dimensions with his tractor beam. The Autobots deflect two attempts and the victims end up on a frozen planetoid instead of with Unicron. Maximals Rattrap and Silverbolt and the Predacon Waspinator are sent to help the victims, but Reptilion, Sunstorm, Ruination and Perceptor are sent to get them for Unicron. As a side effect of the device Rhinox built, a vortex opens which sucks in an Autobot shuttle from the past piloted by Bumblebee, Tracks and Cosmos. Thrust attacks the Maximal ship, but they are saved by being transported to the Autobot shuttle. The Autobots and Maximals then go to the planet where they save the victims from the Decepticons. On the planet are two groups of Autobots. One is from the Robots in Disguise story, with Landfill (Wal-Mart recolor), Side Burn (Universe recolor) and Prowl (Universe recolor). The other is from another parallel world with Spy Changer Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Prowl and Ironhide. They all fight off the Decepticons. The Autobot shuttle is sent back to its own time. -- Repowers 00:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

There was also a splash page that depicted some of the characters in this play in the OTFCC program for that year. If no one has a scan I think I might have it on my old PC. I can try and find it to upload. Lightsyder 14:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

One more thing, I purchased a copy of this script from Simon Furman a few years ago and after I recieved it I asked him about placement of the story in relation to the Universe comics. He said it would have been Universe #4 1/2. Lightsyder 14:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I've got the program. That splash shot also includes Hot Spot, who far as I know wasn't in the story, so it's not really related to it. It might be nice to have for Michael McConnohie's page, though.
But if you've got the script, definately give the page a fact-checking and longer write-up. Any characters who don't speak can be moved to a "minor characters" list. -- Repowers 15:10, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
....oh. I just realized you meant a different image, which is indeed the script reading crew. I'm scanning it now. -- Repowers 20:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

A World Where Spychangers Evolved from Men?!

[edit]

Which Optimus Prime did Michelle Carolus voice...? -Derik 06:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Tiny yellow RiD Prime, IIRC. ItsWalky 06:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Yellow RID Spychanger Prime, who apparently should have his own page, along with his Spychanger buddies from this story. But until someone with a copy of the script steps up to the plate, we don't know enough to even assign a name to their continuity of origin, let alone write pages about them. -- Repowers 06:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I was about to say. They're all from a crazy tiny Spychanger universe, so that Prime doesn't really have a home on anyone else's page. --ItsWalky 06:46, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Why would they have their own page? They're from an alternate RiD continuity, but still in the RiD continuity family. We don't have separate pages or Marvel Optimus Prime and Dreamwave Optimus Prime.
We make exceptions for TFU characters if multiple incarnations of 1 character exist side-by-side or one of the abductees decided to permanently hang around. Neither is the case here AFAIK. Am I missing some wrinkle in the standard we're applying?-Derik 10:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, they're RiD guys popping into a G1 universe, alongside characters that, within the fiction, are from a different RiD universe. Anyways, this Prime is little, yellow, and has a girl voice. Along with the fact that the two universes are acknowledged within the fiction, it sounds like enough difference to pop him and his buddies off on their own page to me. (Also, Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide)'s got his own page, and all he did was die!) -- Repowers 23:04, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah, good point. Characters from the mainline RiD universe appear in the same story. Disambiging = useful.
I have some not-very-speculative ideas on this matter. Is the script scanned/transcribed online anywhere? It sounds like more than 1 wiki member has copies... -Derik 23:18, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I've never been able to find a copy of it online; in fact it's almost like it never happened, for all the mention it gets online. If I did find it, this article would be in much better shape. -- Repowers 23:41, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I have copies of both scripts in PDF format that I can share if anyone is interested. Or is that frowned upon here? Lightsyder 00:03, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Script scan

[edit]

I have the script. If I posted scans of it, would that upset anyone involved? 68.61.240.172 15:15, 22 November 2009 (EST)

Depends where you post them, but I don't think it will upset anyone. I'd love to get a look at the script: been wanting to write the "OTFCC (ship)" for some time now. Geewunling 02:00, 23 November 2009 (EST)

Script

[edit]

I have a scanner that will let me scan directly to PDF now.

Enjoy. --Monzo 02:21, 19 October 2011 (EDT)

It's on YouTube.

[edit]

The cousin of the girl who voiced Optimus Prime and Side Burn uploaded it to YouTube. Would it be worthy enough to put on the Wiki? Link: [1] Escargon 19:15, 31 October 2013 (EDT)
